Liberals are completely clueless when it comes to anything involving guns, a fact that former Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley proved loudly and to his own detriment when he attempted to politicize the recent shooting at a video game tournament in Jacksonville, Fla.
On Tuesday, O’Malley attacked both the NRA and Florida Gov. Rick Scott in a tweet about the shooting. “Another tragic mass shooting in Florida. Republican Governor Rick Scott proudly boasted that he passed more Pro-gun, NRA legislation than any other governor,” he wrote. “Time to close the chapter on deadly pandering. #WinBackYourState, Florida.”

However, rather than make a profound political statement, O’Malley only made himself look like a fool. Because while the shooting took place in Scott’s home state of Florida, the shooter resided in and legally purchased two handguns in O’Malley’s home state of Maryland.
Womp, womp.
Thankfully, NRA spokeswoman Dana Loesch was nice enough to alert O’Malley of his gaffe:
The handgun was legally purchased in your state, Governor, which has a 30 day waiting period, registration, permit to purchase, may-issue LTC, and in 2013 you signed a law prohibiting involuntary institutionalized persons from possessing firearms. This isn’t Gov. Scott’s fault. https://t.co/UDqZeUVxzH

Ouch. Maybe O’Malley should take a break from Twitter to recover – and Loesch didn’t even touch on the fact that more than 450 people in Florida have been forced to give up their guns under a “Risk Protection Order” signed into law by Scott just three weeks after the Parkland shooting, which is the exact opposite of “pro-gun, NRA legislation.”
Honestly, would it kill a liberal to check the facts before they sound off on gun violence?
