Cuomo Is Caught Hugging Georgia Mayor Without A Mask On – Refuses To Self-Quarantine

Seems New York Governor Andrew Cuomo (D) has been exposed as a hypocrite. Backlash against him has poured in after he was caught hugging the mayor of Savannah, Georgia without a mask on.

A mask-less Cuomo was caught on camera meeting with Democratic Savannah Mayor Van Johnson to discuss assisting with the city’s COVID-19 response. Cuomo was seen hugging Johnson at least two different times without masks on despite the fact that the New York governor is a strong proponent of forcing everyone to wear masks.

Johnson has since admitted the mistake, according to the New York Post.

“We messed up, I mean, yeah, we messed up,” Johnson said. “We’re human. We made a mistake.”

A spokesperson for the mayor added that he feels bad about the mistake and “promises to do better” in the future.

“[Johnson] was genuinely thankful so they just elbow-bumped — kind of like you would shake hands — and it wouldn’t have been a big deal, but they had just finished the press conference and their masks were on the table,” the spokesperson explained. “Throughout the rest of the meeting — other than that one photo, the mayor and the governor had their masks on.”

“The purpose of the meeting was to come together to fight against COVID-19. It’s unfortunate people are grasping at that one moment,” the spokesperson added. “They had their masks on the entire time and maintained six feet of social distancing,”

Cuomo, however, has not responded to the backlash. Instead, he left the task of responding up to his senior adviser, Rich Azzopardi.

“Everyone wore masks the entire time except when they spoke at the press conference and these photos were taken three seconds after it ended,” Azzopardi said.

“There is no bigger champion of wearing masks than this governor and it’s ironic that the right wing echo chamber that spent months trying to politicize mask wearing is now trying to seize of this cheap political attack,” he added.

Once he got back to New York, Cuomo refused to follow his own rules of self-quarantining, claiming that he is an “essential” employee. Once again, a Democrat clearly thinks that they are above the laws to which they force everyone else to abide.
