Brian Stelter, host of CNN’s media show “Reliable Sources,” once again failed to crack the 1 million mark in viewership for the 11th straight week.
“Reliable Sources” lost five percent of its viewers week-over-week, according to a report from Fox News, marking the third occasion that the show has finished with less than 800,000 viewers.
Stelter, who sets himself up as a media watchdog, is a regular punching bag for conservative commentators and media critics.
The post-Trump era has been tough on CNN. Ratings are down 50% across several categories since former President Donald Trump left office.
I know I've been noting ratings but it's because you can't understand media without them. Without Trump fears, liberal audiences are *vanishing* to a shocking degree. Chris Hayes is close to having fewer than *100,000 people* under 55 watching. CNN can't get near a million total: pic.twitter.com/HatOXytxvI

CNN Can’t Seem To Stop Bleeding Viewers
Brian Stelter is not the only CNN anchor left to wonder where everyone went. Even CNN’s prime time hosts are having difficulty attracting an audience.
The week before Memorial Day, granted a possibly slow time as Americans planned their holidays, “Cuomo Prime Time” with host Chris Cuomo only managed 919,000 viewers. Even a giant Q-tip couldn’t dig Cuomo out of the ratings dump.
Demographics are an important measure of how a show is doing among targeted age groups. The 25-54 demographic for Brian Stelter, basically people his age, are not finding him and his “hard-hitting” look at the media entertaining.
“Reliable Sources” has not been able to attract that coveted demo. Fox News Channel’s own “Media Buzz” garnered 185,000 viewers in that age bracket to beat Reliable Sources by 43%.

Stelter Covers For Toobin
One of the reasons for CNN’s and Brian Stelter’s ratings nosedive could be the obvious bias.
Disgraced CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin made his return to the network in an interview with Alisyn Camerota last week, after he was seen masturbating during a Zoom call last fall and subsequently went on leave for many months.
Stelter was quick to provide plenty of cover for his former colleague. He attempted to suggest that Toobin’s return was by Thursday evening “old news.”
His assessment of the Toobin situation: “There were a wide range of reactions to the news on Thursday afternoon. But by nightfall, I pretty much sensed that the social media conversation had moved on to other subjects.”
Well, then.

What Does CNN Do Now That Trump Is Gone?
CNN spent the four years of the Trump administration doing nothing but trashing Trump, his family, his administration, and everything associated with him. Reporting the news, all of the news, accurately and fairly, was just not on the radar for them.
Reporters and commentators like Jim Acosta and Chris Cuomo violated one of the basic tenets of journalism. Do not make yourself part of the story. In a nutshell, it is what went wrong. That and reports that were obviously biased, in terms of what was highlighted and what wasn’t.
Today’s CNN is a far cry from the one that was the first 24-hour news channel in the days of cable news infancy.
They appear to have done what the makers of pagers and radio stations that played nothing but disco did, put all of their eggs into one basket, the Trump basket.
Now, their ratings are in the garbage basket.
CNN "has lost 45 percent of its prime-time audience in the past five weeks", MSNBC down 26%, Fox News "has essentially regained its leading position by standing still" https://t.co/hxrJCKyCFW
