CNN’s Acosta Rudely ‘Fact Checks’ the President’s Claim of Being ‘Least Racist Person in the World’

Bombastic White House correspondent decides to take Trump to task — and feels he knows better than the chief executive on this (and virtually every) point

There’s been no love lost for a long time between President Donald Trump and CNN White House correspondent Jim Acosta.

And now that Acosta can’t grandstand at White House press events any longer — or rarely, anyway — he decided to go after the president in a different way on Tuesday.

Speaking to reporters outside the White House on Tuesday morning ahead of his trip to Jamestown, Virginia, the president — among other statements — described himself as “the least racist person … anywhere in the world.”

That defiant, definitive stance is typical, of course, of this president, who doesn’t mince words about his views or his stances — something millions upon millions of American citizens value and appreciate him for, each and every day.

Now, Acosta has decided to “fact check” Trump for that statement.

Reporters asked Trump about his recent comments about Rep. Elijah Cummings (D-Md.) as well as of Al Sharpton.

Trump’s remarks about the two men led many on the Left to allege that Trump is a racist.

“I am the least racist person there is anywhere in the world,” Trump declared in response.

“What I’ve done for African-Americans in two-and-a-half years, no president has been able to do anything like it. Unemployment at the lowest level in the history of our country for African Americans.”

Acosta later tweeted about the president’s claim on Twitter, saying there, “Fact check: False.”

Last fall, after his outbursts during media events and at one in particular — in which he refused to give up the microphone while verbally attacking the president — the White House tried to strip Acosta of his media pass.

But after the network filed suit, it was reinstated.

A judge decided the reporter had not been given due process.
