CNN, Democrat Energy Sec. Granholm Spark Outrage Implying Condo Collapse Caused By Climate Change

In an ongoing effort by Democrats to never let a crisis go to waste, Department of Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm appeared on CNN Tuesday, and implied that the horrific collapse of a south Florida high rise condominium building was the result of climate change.

Details as to why the collapse might have occurred are still sketchy as the investigation continues. As of Wednesday, the death toll had risen to 16, and over 150 people are still unaccounted for.

Initial reports have stated that engineers have reported that there were warning signs of structural failure, but a local building official told the condominium board members three years ago that the building was in “very good shape.”

Granholm Blames Climate Change For Building Collapse

At least one person used the term “ghoulish” to describe Granholm’s answer to the question as to whether or not climate change could have played a role in the collapse.

In an unemotional matter-of-fact response, Granholm stated, “Obviously, we don’t know fully, but we do know that the seas are rising. We know that we’re losing inches and inches of beaches, not just in Florida but all around.”

She continued, “Michigan, where I’m from, we’ve seen the loss of beaches because the waters are rising, so this is a phenomenon that will continue.”

Secretary Granholm said that, of course we need to wait and see the analysis of the investigation, but that Americans need to “adapt to” and “protect ourselves” from impending climate change doom.

But Granholm did have a possible solution to combatting ever-encroaching climate change and beach erosion, pass President Joe Biden’s infrastructure bill.

Social Media Blasts Granholm And CNN

Social media wasted no time in telling CNN and Secretary Granholm exactly what they thought of her climate change theory.

National Review Editor Rich Lowery marveled at Democrats ability to blame most anything on climate change.

Mike LaChance was all but convinced it was a parody, perhaps a bit from popular satire website Babylon Bee.

Alex Plitsas marveled at the precision of climate change. He pointed out how amazing it was that just one area could be completely devastated, but another left alone.

It was “Bonchie” who summed up Granholm’s performance, and what was to many, and obvious attempt to politicize a tragedy while recovery efforts are still going on, and the loved ones of residents of the condominiums wait for word of their friends or family members.

Competing Scientific Responses

Stephen Leatherman, professor at Florida International University, who researches south Florida beaches, says there is no evidence that climate change was a cause of the collapse.

In an interview with Agence France-Presse, Leatherman said of climate change, “I doubt that that was an issue here. Rather, a lack of reinforcement in the doomed structure’s construction, or perhaps water damage that eventually compromised its foundations, are more likely culprits.”

Other factors questioned by Leatherman were rebar to support the tower, and sand quality in the making of the concrete.
