Report: Fox News Employees Are Angry About Their Network’s Russia Coverage

According to a report from CNN, several Fox News employees are upset with their network’s coverage of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russia investigation, claiming that the conservative network didn’t cover the issue extensively or objectively enough.

CNN reportedly spoke with a handful of Fox News employees on the condition of anonymity after one Fox News personality sent a text message to someone at CNN complaining, “I’m watching now and screaming. I want to quit.”

Another senior Fox News employee said there “were many eye rolls” in the newsroom over how the network covered the indictment of ex-Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort. “It is another blow to journalists at Fox who come in every day wanting to cover the news in a fair and objective way,” the person said, adding, “Fox feels like an extension of the Trump White House.”

While Fox News did cover the Manafort indictment as its top story on Monday, according to the CNN report, the network “found plenty of time to cover other topics, like the NFL protests, North Korea, and tax reform.”

Additionally, the network aired several segments that questioned Mueller’s credibility. “That segment on Outnumbered [questioning Mueller’s integrity] was absurd and deserves all the scorn it can get,” one Fox News employee said, adding that it was “laughable seeing Hannity and [Laura] Ingraham tripping over themselves saying [Mueller’s team has] found nothing thus far.”

“It’s an embarrassment,” another Fox News employee reportedly said. “Frankly, there are shows on our network that are backing the President at all costs, and it’s that short term strategy that undermines the good work being done by others.”

Wow. If this isn’t an instance of the pot calling the kettle black then I don’t know what is. Throughout the duration of the Hillary Clinton email scandal, CNN and the rest of the liberal media made it their M.O. to downplay the issue. In October 2015, CNN reporter Ashleigh Banfield objected to the use of the word “scandal,” instead insisting that it was merely a “controversy.” In January 2016, CNN legal analyst Jeffrey Toobin claimed the scandal wasn’t “a big legal problem.”

In other words, if Fox News is guilty of backing Trump at all costs, then CNN was – and is – guilty of backing Clinton at all costs. But now that their pick didn’t win the election, they have no choice but to pick on the competition.
