CNN Analyst Crosses Line When Talking Roger Stone and Prison

Discussion of Roger Stone’s social media post about the judge handling his case went off the rails on CNN, when analyst and former adviser to four presidents, David Gergen, made some controversial suggestions about what could happen to Stone in prison.

Gergen’s comments came as the panel discussed Stone’s ill-advised Instagram posting about U.S. District Judge Amy Berman Jackson, which featured her image with crosshairs next to it.

“Through legal trickery Deep State hitman Robert Mueller has guaranteed that my upcoming show trial is before Judge Amy Berman Jackson,” Stone wrote on Instagram.

He referred to her as “an Obama appointed Judge who dismissed the Benghazi charges against Hillary Clinton and incarcerated Paul Manafort prior to his conviction for any crime.”

Stone has been a frequent critic of Mueller, calling him “a hitman for the establishment” and noting that framing people “is his specialty.”

Asked if he thought Stone now viewed his decision to post the offending image as a bad idea, Gergen responded. “You might think that he would consider it but you would never think he would do it because of this act of such utter stupidity.”

Claims Stone Should Be Worried About Prison

Gergen followed that up with what the former adviser to President Trump and legendary Republican operative should truly be worried about if he is sent to prison.

“We’ve now heard harrowing tales about what’s happening to him in prison and how his life has changed, how lonely and how depressed he is,” Gergen said of Manafort. “He doesn’t see his family.”

“Roger Stone must also worry that if he goes there, he’s seen as something of a dandy where he’d be physically safe,” he added. “Would he be subject to rape, I mean, there must be a lot of things that are going through his mind.”

Imagine if this had been Fox News and an analyst described some Democrat operative as looking like ‘something of a dandy.’ The Urban Dictionary defines a ‘dandy’ as”a flamboyant or effeminate male, regardless of sexual orientation.” This term was used by a Senior CNN Political Analyst – on air. And CNN anchor Kate Bolduan simply glosses over the insult.

The seemingly homophobic connotations about Stone’s possible future in prison are reprehensible.

Not the First Homophobic Comment About Stone

Amazingly, this isn’t the first time a liberal analyst has joked about Roger Stone’s potential future in prison in homophobic tones.

John Podhoretz, who appears frequently on MSNBC, also mentioned the former Trump adviser’s “proclivities” and asserted he “would enjoy prison.”

“The thing is, given his proclivities, Stone would enjoy prison,” Podhoretz tweeted before taking it down.

Chris Barron, an openly gay conservative strategist, ripped the comments as “homophobic bulls***.”

Odd that the liberal media, supposed champions of the LGBT movement, have been brazenly spitting out ‘homophobic bulls***’ when discussing an adviser to the President possibly spending time in prison.
