Claire McCaskill Swipes at ‘Crazy’ Democrats, Agrees With Trump on Stopping Caravan

Democrat Missouri Senator Claire McCaskill, who is in a tough re-election battle, tried to distance herself from the increasingly extreme socialism taking over her party. She took a swipe at members of her party she deems “crazy Democrats” and even expressed support for President Trump using the military to stop the illegal caravan headed to the U.S. border.

She made some truly remarkable statements in an effort to seem more moderate, more grounded, than her colleagues.

The vulnerable Democrat incumbent spoke with Fox News Monday evening, taking part in an interview with Bret Baier on “Special Report.” In full desperation mode, she turned on her colleagues and feigned support for the President.

Recent polls show McCaskill trailing her opponent, Republican Attorney General Josh Hawley, by a 49-45 margin.

Supports Trump using the military to stop the caravan

To the surprise of many, McCaskill offered a vociferous defense of President Trump and his efforts to secure our nation as a caravan of illegal migrants rushes toward America’s southern border.

Her comments even support the use of the military, as Trump has vowed.

“I think the president has to use every tool he has at his disposal,” McCaskill said. “And I – 100 percent – back him up on that.”

“I do not want our borders overrun. And I support the president’s efforts to make sure they’re not.”

Well, maybe not EVERY tool at his disposal.

In April, McCaskill called President Trump’s border wall “embarrassing” and added, “It’s not going to happen.”

McCaskill mentions Warren and Sanders in segment on ‘crazy’ Democrats

During the same interview, McCaskill was asked to identify those in her party who she deemed to be “crazy.”

The term was not without background. Her campaign recently produced a radio advertisement trying to persuade Missouri voters that she is not “one of those crazy Democrats.”

Asked to define them, she at first cited those loons who scream at elected officials in restaurants or in other public forums. You know, the people stirred up by Maxine Waters or encouraged by Cory Booker.

McCaskill then slammed Elizabeth Warren and Bernie Sanders, saying she wouldn’t necessarily call them crazy but … well, you fill in the blanks.

“I would not call my colleagues crazy, but Elizabeth Warren sure went after me,” McCaskill asserted, before invoking curmudgeonly Vermont Senator, Bernie Sanders.

“I certainly disagree with Bernie Sanders on a bunch of stuff, um, so I’m not afraid.”

She added that the pair, along with other crazy Democrats, consists “of the knee-jerk folks that just are against the president no matter what.”

I don’t buy it

McCaskill is clearly in desperation mode as she faces the prospect of losing her election on Tuesday.

She has no intentions of supporting Trump in his efforts to protect the border. She has no intention of calling out fringe elements in her party – such as Warren and Sanders – should she win.

And she is certainly not a moderate Democrat, having voted against both of the President’s Supreme Court nominations while previously supporting all of Barack Obama’s.

McCaskill’s refusal to support Brett Kavanaugh, while Hawley and most Missourians did, may be what ends up bringing her down.

South Carolina Senator Lindsey Graham believes handing McCaskill a defeat would show people that the Democrat smear against Kavanaugh did not work.

McCaskill, at least in that Supreme Court battle, sided with the same “crazy Democrats” she now denounces.
