Chuck Grassley Calls For Special Council to Investigate Hillary Uranium One Deal

It’s no wonder Hillary Clinton never shuts up about Russian collusion – nobody knows more about it than her, after all.

As we reported last week“the Obama administration was well aware that the Russians used bribery, kickbacks, and extortion to get a stake in the U.S. atomic energy industry, but still approved the 2010 deal giving Moscow control of one-fifth of America’s uranium. And not only did the Obama administration know about the crimes – they actively covered them up.”

Russian collusion with Democrats? Say it ain’t so!

And because we apparently live in The Twilight Zone, would you believe that the Clintons were involved? Federal officials learned that Russian nuclear officials had sent millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation at the same time that former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton sat on a committee that OK’d the relevant deals.

During recent testimony before the Senate Judiciary Committee, Attorney General Jeff Sessions was asked about the Russia revelation. He declined to “confirm or deny whether or not the Justice Department is investigating if Russian payments to the Clintons improperly influenced a decision by the Obama administration to approve a Russian takeover of a U.S. uranium mine.”

Sessions was responding to a question from Chairman Chuck Grassley concerning reports of possible collusion. Here’s more of Sessions’s response: “Mr. Chairman, we will hear your concerns. The Department of Justice will take such actions as is appropriate.”

Then Sessions said that Grassley’s concerns “will be reviewed.”

That didn’t appear to be enough for Grassley, who is now calling for a special counsel to investigate the Uranium One deal.

According to the Daily Caller, “Grassley’s call for a special counsel follows new reports of Russian bribery operations secured approval for the deal. The Senate Judiciary Committee previously launched a probe into the deal, which was approved after Russia funneled millions of dollars to the Clinton Foundation and a Kremlin-linked bank paid former President Bill Clinton $500,000 in speaking fees.”

Grassley is hardly the only one asking questions. Rep. Steve King is asking why the FBI had shut down a prior investigation into bribery and corruption surrounding the Uranium One deal in the past.

Given how the FBI let Hillary off the hook following their investigation into her private email server, it’s not hard to speculate that “because Hillary was involved” is the answer to why the prior investigation was closed.
