Christine Blasey Ford Emerges to Give Sports Illustrated Award to Rachael Denhollander

Christine Blasey Ford, the woman who accused Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh of assaulting her, presented Rachel Denhollander with Sports Illustrated’s Inspiration of the Year Award.

Christine Blasey Ford presents Sports Illustrated award

Ford, who hasn’t spoken publicly since her public testimony against Kavanaugh, was featured in video presenting the award to Denhollander, who was the first woman to accuse USA Gymnastics doctor Larry Nassar of sexual assault. Her bravery has been rewarded by the sports magazine.

Here is the clip:

Rachel Denhollander’s bravery

There’s no denying Denhollander’s bravery in coming out against Nassar. After she spoke up, a flood of credible accusations came in, which resulted in Nassar being sentenced up to 175 years in prison. Over 150 women testified against Nassar ultimately.

However, it besmirches Denhollander’s reputation to have Dr. Ford present her award. Unlike Denhollander, Ford’s accusation against Kavanaugh lacked corroborating evidence. There were also many shady instances surrounding Ford’s testimony, including its timing and frequent changing of facts. An independent legal analysis conducted after Ford’s testimony before Congress noted multiple inconsistencies in her story. It was determined that if put on criminal trial, Ford’s case of Kavanaugh wouldn’t have a ghost of a chance. Contrast that with Denhollander’s case, which actually did go to criminal court and was found legally compelling.

Likewise, while Denhollander’s accusation spurred many women to come forward with their credible stories, Ford had the opposite effect. Her accusations brought others forward, none of them believable or substantiated. (RELATED: Avenatti and Kavanaugh Accuser Referred by Senate for Criminal Investigation.)

Blasey Ford attempts to stay relevant

Frankly, it’s sad to see Blasey Ford do this. Her credibility has already been shot thanks to her refusal to make any more public statements or clarifications to her flawed testimony. Even her lawyers have since come under fire for their unprofessional conduct. (RELATED: Complaint Filed Against Christine Blasey Ford’s Lawyers.)

Despite all this controversy still surrounding the veracity of Dr. Ford’s accusations, she has chosen to ignore public scrutiny and defend a fellow accuser, who had way more credibility behind her accusations.

Denhollander’s courage is undermined by having Ford, an accuser who refused to cooperate properly with authorities, present her an award. She deserves better, just as Brett Kavanaugh did.
