Disturbing news out of Chicago this morning as the Chicago Transit Authority (CTA) has closed down a train station after a mysterious white powder was discovered. A female passenger reportedly told the conductor that a man sprayed the white powder before running off.
Passengers were immediately evacuated and emergency personnel, including a hazardous materials team, are on the scene. The incident occurred around 8:47 a.m. local time.

The incident occurred near the Addison station, which is along the network’s red line. The CTA is telling passengers to avoid the station.

The Daily Mail reports, “The train is shut down in both directions at the stop while police investigate. The red line is reportedly not stopping at the Wrigleyville station, either.”
It’s still unclear right now what the white substance is, or if it’s a danger to commuters.
