The hand in the ultrasound above just might be giving the world’s tiniest ‘thumbs up!’
That image is a close-up of the 20 week ultrasound for the son of Cheryl Stevenson and Paul Schofield, from Manchester, England.
The father described the incredible moment his son sent them a message from the womb:
‘He immediately curled up into a ball and put his face down and at first we couldn’t get a clear picture. We were gutted. But as soon as the midwife said she would have to wrap things up, his little hand came out and he gave us the thumbs up.
‘We all burst into laughter. The midwife said she had seen a few hand gestures in her time but nothing as clear and forthright as this. It brought a great deal of happiness to our day.’
He added: ‘It was a unique experience that we wanted to share – and it was a great way of him telling us that we are doing a good job by him so far.’
How much more proof of life in the womb do people need? This baby was moving around, wiggling his fingers, and sending a message to the world about his humanity.
Obviously, a 20 week old fetus that can move its arms is not just a “clump of cells,” as the abortion industry likes to tell its customers.
Yet, somehow, banning abortion after 20 weeks is controversial in America. The Pain Capable Unborn Child Protection Act has been introduced in the House, but hasn’t passed yet, and, even if it gets past the Senate, President Obama would kill it.
While this baby is safely waving his arm to his loving parents from inside his mother’s womb, there are others at the same developmental age whose arms are being painfully torn off in the womb through D&E abortions because they are “unwanted.”
If I were a Congresswoman, I would blow this picture up and have it beside me on the House floor as I spoke about the pain babies feel when they are aborted.
This ultrasound image needs to be shared far and wide so that when people defend late term abortion, they have to face reality.
If we are ever to stop the evil of abortion, then everyone must know: It’s not a clump of cells, it’s not the product of conception, it’s not a choice – it’s a preborn baby that feels pain!
