Have you ever noticed that it’s only ever been Democrats who’ve advocated for giving felons the right to vote? Virginia’s Democrat governor Terry McAuliffe last year said that his “greatest achievement” in office was restoring the voting rights of 156,221 felons.
Why? Because 7 in 10 felons lean Democrat, while only ten percent lean Republican.
That’s why you see places like the Center for American Progress bemoan the fact that there are 3.1 million Americans ineligible to vote as a result of their own crimes. “There are currently more Americans barred from voting due to past felony convictions than the populations of North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming combined. The laws that prevent 3.1 million citizens who have completed their sentences from voting are outdated, irresponsible, and unjust,” they write.
But how committed are they to “voting rights” when it’s a demographic that votes Republican? As the Washington Times reported,
After years of accusing states of “voter suppression,” the Center for American Progress wants to make it tougher for overseas military to vote in the name of election security.
The left-wing public-policy group issued Monday a report, “Election Security in All 50 States,” that called for stricter standards to prevent cyber-meddling in elections by foreign governments, including banning military stationed abroad from submitting ballots via email or fax.
One state that allows such vote-casting is Colorado. The center called on the state to “prohibit voters stationed or living overseas from returning voted ballots electronically.”
“Regardless of the state’s secure ballot return system for electronically voted ballots, we recommend that all voted ballots be returned by mail or delivered in person,” said the 245-page report.
What could possibly be motivating their inconsistent position? Could it be the fact that Republicans outnumber Democrats 2:1 in the military? You bet.
So liberals are officially for the voting rights of felons, but not those in the armed forces. Not a great look, guys.

Of course. Military tend to vote Republican. So, the Democrats want to take away THEIR right to vote while they are in combat zones defending felon’s right to vote. What is wrong with THIS picture…?!?!?

The DoD needs to create a safe and secure method for those serving overseas to vote. Then impose it on the states. The State Department must follow Defense’s lead.
So don’t want our soldiers to be allowed to vote, so i guess when all the immigrants try to take over our cities, and the liberals, they will want our soldiers to come to their rescue………when all the higher ups in the democrats party, are all in jail, what will the liberals do then………damn dumbasses.
And I favor overseas military personnel stripping from such liberals the ability to breathe.

I thought they just wanted to fight the policy of voter ID. I think the military can handle security of the warriors who vote, can be assured the ballot box is secure, and private. can’t believe this will be considered. the push back builds. They STILL get to vote by mail. Yes, in a smart world, the U.S. should have an on line voting system for EVERYONE, not just those overseas. Just think how much other STUFF is at risk because the U.S. is too stupid to know how to make a secure on line system. Paper, mail, or on line, the current condition of the dems level of mind function, EVERYthing is at risk of being destroyed in the process of being delivered for counting. IF the U.S. is so smart, then why haven’t they created an on line working system. It would be much easier for every voter to vote vs. having to leave work and stand in line so their name can be crossed off. There are tons of errors in our current way of voting. How many dead people voted twice or 3 times in more than one state in this last election to try to get hillary in office?

Amazing the brazenness of the Democrats & the Center for American progress will given felons the right to vote, but deny the very people who are fighting for our freedom the right to vote. Not unbelievable though, next it’ll be seniors who don’t vote Democrat, then Christians who don’t vote Democrat. Of course the real reason is that Republicans outnumber Democrats 2:1 in the military. What have the Democrats ever done for the military but send them out to fight ill equipped, not trained and then wouldn’t let them do their job in the field because they know better than the General’s as far as rules of engagement. Remember – – Just as the left considers the Blacks slaves of the vote for them, they consider the military against their voting numbers. So just as they pander to the minorities, they revile the military. Ironic, but since the left is Socialist, / Communist, Regressive / Liberal, the idea of the individual does not apply. This is not news. The (D) party has tried for decades various mechanisms to marginalize military voters. If they’re going to do that, then let’s disallow ALL government employees votes – after all, working for the government and voting are inherently a conflict of interest, yes? While we’re at it, classify every person receiving any kind of Federal assistance as a government employee. That would eliminate all of the conflict of interest voting…
If we really want to end ballot meddling, we need to return to paper ballots and have each and every batch hand-carried by 3 people comprising (R), (D), and (I) and handled similarly to police evidence with a positive chain of custody / count checks at every point.
