Go home, Carl, you’re drunk.
Carl Cameron used to be an all-star Fox News reporter who broke many big scoops. Unfortunately, last year he left the network he called home for nearly 20 years. On his way out, Cameron made a subtle diss at both his network and other media networks that have shed professional responsibility and have adopted a more combative tone. “There are better ways to tell stories. There are better ways to chronicle the American experience than screeching at each other. And that’s something the networks are learning,” he told Hollywood Reporter.
Well, if Cameron thought the media was getting out of control with partisan-based reporting, he sure hasn’t done his part combating the problem. In a new interview with Think Progress, a blog notorious for radical left-wing partisanship, Cameron goes off the deep end, spreading an unconfirmed rumor as a fact.

Cameron cites Roger Stone, a Trump confidant and former campaign advisor, working with the hacker Guccifer 2.0 to steal emails from the Democratic National Committee. Cameron told Think Progress: “Roger Stone’s success was having the connections and creating the opportunities for [Russian intelligence officer] Guccifer2.0 and other Russian groups to really start taking advantage of social media and pounding these negative memes that Hillary’s a crook, etc.”
Never mind that such an assertion has yet to be verified by the FBI after 2 years of investigation. Cameron just claims it without evidence to back it up.
He then says the same kind of cyber attacks against the U.S. are ongoing, which is true. That doesn’t automatically mean Trump is colluding with the Russians to make that happen. And it also means that the Obama Administration let the Russians interfere in the election without lifting a finger to stop them.
It’s curios that Cameron fails to point that out. He lets Obama off the hook, while making unsubstantiated claims about President Trump and Russian collusion.
Gee, that sure sounds like an indictment of the feverishly partisan media, doesn’t it?
