My how times they are a-changing …
Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, you may recall, responded to President Trump’s efforts to halt the influx of refugees and illegal immigrants into the United States by offering up his country as an alternative safe space.
“To those fleeing persecution, terror & war, Canadians will welcome you, regardless of your faith,” Trudeau boasted. “Diversity is our strength.”

Trudeau and his administration are now whistling a vastly different tune.
After President Trump strengthened immigration laws even further recently, hundreds of thousands of El Salvadoran citizens were left wondering what would happen to them.
“The Department of Homeland Security has decided not to grant a full renewal of humanitarian protections to some 200,000 citizens of El Salvador who have been living in the U.S. since 2001,” the Washington Times reported.
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen did grant them Temporary Protected Status for 18 months, allowing them time to sort out their immigration issues.
“Temporary Protected Status allows them to live and work in the U.S. without fear of deportation,” the report states. “Without it, most TPS holders would be illegal immigrants.”
Despite that 18-month grace period, Canada decided they’d better get on top of the situation immediately. Did they open their arms, their doors, and their borders to the citizens of El Salvador?
No, they essentially said don’t bother coming here!
#TPS: “Fearing an influx of newcomers crossing ‘irregularly’ into Canada from the US, the Canadian govt has embarked on an information campaign to discourage Salvadorans from trekking north, as thousands of Haitians did…last summer.” https://t.co/hcxpRnreO9

“The government announced that it was planning to send Pablo Rodriguez, a Spanish-speaking member of Parliament, to California in the coming days to speak to community groups, lawyers and Spanish-language media,” the Washington Post reports. “His message is simple: If you don’t qualify for refugee or asylum status, don’t try to cross into Canada.”
Well that doesn’t sound very welcoming, Mr. Trudeau.
Really, Prime Minister Trudeau? In 2018? I mean, really? https://t.co/CMR4Tq6x6e

Trudeau was actually outed as a world class hypocrite over his immigration remarks this past summer, when illegals began self-deporting to Canada because of President Trump’s tough immigration stance.
Suddenly, the man who wanted open borders in Canada discovered a little thing called ‘laws.’
“Canada is an opening and welcoming society, but let me be clear,” Trudeau said. “We are also a country of laws.”
Guess what – so is America. At least now we are after eight years of Obama’s penchant for lawlessness.
Is Trudeau a hypocrite for saying Trump should accept illegals, then refusing to accept them in Canada? Share your thoughts below!
