Sanctuary State Signs Pop Up In California: ‘Felons, Illegals and MS-13 Welcome!’

At least somebody in California recognizes the absurdity of the Golden State becoming a ‘sanctuary’ for illegal immigrants.

‘Official Sanctuary State’ signs have been popping up alongside highways in California, mocking Governor Jerry Brown and his fellow Democrats efforts to aid and abet illegals in their state.

The signs read: “OFFICIAL SANCTUARY STATE: Felons, Illegals and MS13 welcome! Democrats need the votes!”

The mockery can be found on highways leading into California from Nevada and Arizona.

The person responsible for the ‘sanctuary state’ signs has yet to come forward. We’ve researched the claims made on these signs and have determined they are, in fact, true.

California officially became a ‘sanctuary state’ on January 1st, when a bill signed into law by Governor Brown took effect.

The bill – SB54, also known as the California Values Act – “bars law enforcement officers from arresting individuals based on civil immigration warrants, asking about a person’s immigration status, or participating in any joint task force with federal officials for the purpose of enforcing immigration laws.”

SB54 was authored by Democrat Kevin de León, who called it a “rejection of President Trump’s false and cynical portrayal of undocumented residents as a lawless community.”

De León has a personal stake in allowing illegal immigrants to stay in California, particularly those who commit fraud to do so. He admitted during a campaign debate that half of his family are illegals who secured false identification papers to avoid deportation.

“I can tell you half of my family would be eligible for deportation … because if they got a false Social Security card, if they got a false identification, if they got a false driver’s license prior to us passing (the sanctuary state bill), if they got a false green card, and anyone who has family members, you know, who are undocumented knows that almost entirely everybody has secured some sort of false identification,” he said.

The National Sheriffs’ Association begged the administration in October to do something about the lawlessness Democrats are implementing in California.

An open letter implored “leaders in Washington to take action and pass sensible legislation that would prevent careless legislation from hamstringing law enforcement and would give them the tools to combat dangerous policies like this.”

The Trump Administration, particularly ICE Director Tom Homan, has already shown they have no intention of respecting ‘sanctuary’ legislation.

Late last year, teams of ICE enforcement officials detained nearly 500 illegal immigrants from over 40 so-called ‘sanctuary cities.’

“Sanctuary jurisdictions that do not honor detainers or allow us access to jails and prisons are shielding criminal aliens,” Homan announced, adding “If you’re in a sanctuary city, that’s where we send additional resources.”
