Billboard Mocks Beto O’Rourke Over Drunk Driving Arrest

Rogue conservative street artist Sabo mocked 2020 presidential candidate Beto O’Rourke by poking fun at his very serious drunk driving crash and arrest when he was in his mid-twenties.

Sabo created a massive billboard depicting O’Rourke holding a bottle of tequila, sporting a sombrero, and standing in front of a car crashing through a building in the background.

According to the Houston Chronicle, reporters ran a background check on Beto in August of 2018 and found he “was initially arrested in May 1995 and that case was disposed of in February 1996.”

“We saw too that after the DWI arrest, according to another county record, O’Rourke was referred to a misdemeanor diversion program in March 1999 and completed ‘DWI school’ in May 1999,” they also relayed.

Beto fessed up to the incident, stating during a Senate campaign rally that, “More than 20 years ago, I was arrested–not once, but twice.”

“I drove drunk and was arrested for a DWI in 1998,” O’Rourke said. “As I’ve publicly discussed over the last 20 years, I made a serious mistake for which there is no excuse.”

Beto Runs

The ‘Beto runs’ statement has a dual meaning – obviously his announced candidacy, along with the fact that Beto ran from the police during his drunk driving arrest.

His actions were extremely negligent and he posed a threat to public security at the time.

“The law enforcement reports show two elements of the incident that have been overlooked,” the Houston Chronicle reported, “that there was a crash involved, and that O’Rourke allegedly attempted to flee.”

“He lost control and hit a truck, sending his car careening across the center median into oncoming lanes. The witness, who stopped at the scene, later told police that O’Rourke had tried to drive away from the scene.”

Turns out, Beto’s been running for a long time.

Sabo Unleashed

Sabo, in a statement to the Daily Wire, said Beto “grew up having everyone of his troubles fixed by family, and when he left mom and dad he married a billionaire.”

“The billboard makes reference to his hit-and-run DUI charges that either his uncle, a police chief, or his father, a judge, helped him skate out of,” he added. “Beto is just another John Kerry or worse Ted Kennedy.”

Sabo has a rich history of mocking liberals, mocking late night talk show host Jimmy Kimmel as a ‘cry baby’ in a series of street art posters, and hammered Maxine Waters for her many scandals.
