Biden's Approval Sinks To All Time Low Of 36 Percent In New Poll

A new poll shows that President Joe Biden’s job approval rating is down to only 36 percent, which is a new low, a number that should concern Democrats as the 2022 midterm elections get closer.

These new numbers were revealed on Thursday in a survey conducted by Quinnipiac University.

2022 Looking Bad For The Democrat Party

Quinnipiac reported that “Americans give President Biden a negative 36 – 53 percent job approval rating, while 10 percent did not offer an opinion. It’s the lowest job approval rating he’s received in a Quinnipiac University national poll. In mid-October, he received a negative 37 – 52 percent job approval rating.”

Being underwater nearly 20 points in less than a year is, to put it mildly, not good for Biden or the Democrats.

It’s strong Democrat support for Biden that buoys that 36% approval – Independents do not approve of Biden.

The party breakdown looked as follows, “Republicans disapprove 94 – 4 percent, Democrats approve 87 – 7 percent, and independents disapprove 56 – 29 percent with 16 percent not offering an opinion. Among registered voters, Biden gets a negative 38 – 53 percent job approval rating with 9 percent not offering an opinion.”

If just focusing on the issues of the economy or foreign policy, Biden’s numbers get below the already low approval number of 36 percent. 34 percent of voters approve of the president’s handling of the economy, while only 33 percent approve of how Biden has handled foreign policy.

Across the board these numbers spell trouble for Democrats, something the poll also found in addition to Biden’s specific low numbers.

“With Election Day in the rearview mirror and both political parties setting their sights on the 2022 midterm elections, a plurality of Americans say that if the election were held today, they would want to see the Republican Party win control of both the House of Representatives and the U.S. Senate,” Quinnipiac noted.

More Americans Want To See Republicans Control Both The House And Senate

The survey breakdown showed that “Americans say 46 – 38 percent they would want to see the Republican Party win control of the House of Representatives, while 16 percent did not offer an opinion.”

“Among registered voters, 46 – 41 percent say they would want the Republican Party to win control of the U.S. House of Representatives and 46 – 42 percent say they would want to see the Republican Party win control of the U.S. Senate,” Quinnipiac also observed.
