Biden’s Approval On Handling Crime Plummets

President Biden's approval rating on crime has dropped significantly since October as smash-and-grab robberies become more prevalent.

President Biden’s approval rating on crime has dropped significantly since October as citizens are treated to videos of smash-and-grab robberies and American cities see homicide rates skyrocket.

According to an ABC/Ipsos poll released Sunday, just 36 percent of Americans support the President’s handling of crime, down from 43 percent in the same poll in October.

Among independent voters, Biden’s approval on handling crime is a staggeringly-low 1 in 4.

Biden “sees lagging support for his handling of rising rates of violence in many places across the county,” ABC News reports, even “as the national murder rates see historic jumps.”

It also comes, as Fox News writes, “Smash-and-grab lootings have plagued cities in California, as well as in Chicago and other areas of the country, in recent weeks.”

Smash-and-grab robberies, some of which have been captured on video, are seemingly making a dent in President Biden’s approval rating on crime.

A video surfaced over the summer showing retail theft at a San Francisco Walgreens in action.

“In June, a masked man was caught on video at a Walgreens, stuffing items into a trash bag before cruising out of the store on a bicycle,” the Associated Press reported.

Walnut Creek, a city in California, saw smash-and-grab looters stealing about $125,000 in merchandise from a Nordstrom, leading to the city council approving $2 million in funds to increase police department and security.

Over the weekend, smash-and-grab looters broke into an exotic car dealership in Chicago, stealing millions of dollars in watches.

Smash-and-Grab Robberies Are Real

New York Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez raised eyebrows recently when she suggested that large, coordinated smash-and-grab robberies didn’t really exist.

In an interview with the Washington Times, AOC claimed “a lot of these allegations of organized retail theft are not actually panning out.”

It was a claim even the White House rejected.

The Biden administration recognizing the problem with crime and competently handling it are two separate issues, as his approval on the matter indicates.

The same poll shows the President struggling with his approval rating on inflation as well.

“As the White House confronts rising and widespread concern about inflation, Americans are especially negative on how the Biden administration is managing this issue,” ABC writes.

An incredible 69 percent disapprove of how Biden is handling inflation, with a mere 28 percent approving.

More than half (57 percent) disapprove of his handling of the economic recovery.

President Biden’s failures aren’t just dragging him down – it’s dragging down the entire Democrat Party.

Republicans currently hold a never-before-seen double-digit lead on a generic ballot according to the latest CNBC poll – meaning voters who would prefer any Republican to any Democrat.

In fact, the numbers are equal parts historic and devastating as the 2022 midterms approach.

“In the past 20 years, CNBC and NBC surveys have never registered a double-digit Republican advantage on congressional preference, with the largest lead ever being 4 points for the GOP,” CNBC reports.

Not everything is grim for President Biden. ABC reports that he is slightly above water on his handling of COVID-19.
