President Biden shrugged off blame for surging gas prices, instead saying Russia is responsible, and suggested there’s nothing his administration or our country can do about the situation.
Biden’s comments on Tuesday came in response to reporters asking what he can do about the fuel crisis.
“It’s going to go up,” he warned in a terse reply.
“Can’t do much right now. Russia is responsible,” added Biden.
Gas prices on Wednesday rose to a national average of $4.25, over $1.45 higher than just a year ago. Some areas of California are paying $5.78 per gallon on average.

Biden: Russia Responsible For Gas Prices
From ‘Build Back Better’ to ‘Can’t Do Much’ in such a short period of time. It’s a soundbite tailor-made for Republican political ads heading into the midterms.
It’s also less than one month removed from the President vowing to “work like the devil” to lower gas prices.
“I’m going to work like the devil to bring gas prices down,” Biden said. “I’m going to — I’m working to make sure that we keep strengthening the supply chains to bring the cost of energy” down.

President Biden blaming Russia for soaring gas prices – which had been skyrocketing over the previous 13 months before the invasion of Ukraine – is weak.
Abigail Marone, press secretary for Republican Senator Josh Hawley, called it a “humiliating display of American weakness.”
Think about what Biden is saying here. A foreign adversary, in his mind, is responsible for rising gas prices and he’s either unwilling, unable, or not intelligent enough to do anything about it.
That’s leadership, baby!

It’s amazing to watch the entire American media run cover for President Biden on gas prices, saying Russia is responsible, then watching him parrot that exact point.
It’s almost as if they work arm in arm together on their talking points.

Reality, however, the war in Ukraine is exacerbating gas prices that were already well on their way up.

Like Biden, nobody in the administration has any real plan to combat skyrocketing energy prices. And they don’t care. Because unaffordable gas prices mean a forced shift into the “green economy” that they have been pushing.
Don’t believe me? Just listen to Transportation Secretary Pete Buttigieg, who suggested Americans should just buy electric vehicles if they don’t like the current gas prices.
Trump in 2020: “If Biden got in, you’d be paying $7, $8, $9. Then they’d say ‘get rid of your car!'”

Or Vice President Kamala Harris, who urged Americans to “imagine a future” with electric vehicles.

Or even President Biden himself, who said the gas crisis “should motivate us to accelerate the transition to clean energy.”
“Transforming our economy to run on electric vehicles, powered by clean energy, will mean that no one will have to worry about gas prices,” he said.
Loosening environmental regulations won’t lower prices.
But transforming our economy to run on electric vehicles, powered by clean energy, will mean that no one will have to worry about gas prices.
It will mean tyrants like Putin won’t be able to use fossil fuels as a weapon.

“Can’t do much” really means they don’t want to do much, if anything, to help save you money on fuel prices.
Never forget that Biden’s Energy Secretary Jennifer Granholm outright laughed just a few short months ago at the notion she would do anything about gas prices as they were already well into their ascent.

“What is the Granholm plan to increase oil production in America?” Bloomberg host Tom Keene asked.
“That is hilarious,” she replied, tossing her head back in laughter.
There’s nothing funny about $100 fill-ups at the gas station. There’s nothing funny about drastic decreases in our standard of living and financial well-being.
To them though, it’s hilarious. But that’s because the joke is on you.
