President Biden once called America “an idea” that “we’ve never lived up to,” but the long list of great achievements that were accomplished by this nation first says otherwise.
In a campaign video just before the 2020 election, Biden showed his true colors and his disdain for the nation he had served in Congress for nearly four decades.
“America was an idea, an idea,” he says in the clip. “‘We hold these truths to be self-evident.'”
“We’ve never lived up to it, but we’ve never walked away from it before, and I just think we have to be more honest,” Biden continued.

America First
Not only did America live up to it – we far exceeded every idea and expectation that could have been imagined when this nation was born.
Our Founding Fathers – if they are looking down on this nation – would be proud of what we’ve done and what we have overcome.
Let’s start with them, shall we? Authors of the Declaration of Independence, which has served as a blueprint for freedom that inspired numerous other nations’ own movements for independence.
“No American document has had a greater global impact than the Declaration of Independence,” writes David Armitage for The Gilder Lehrman Institute of American History.
America was also the first to extraordinary achievements such as the moon landing, the Wright Brothers and the birth of aviation, the polio vaccine, the internet, cell phones, and the first mass-produced automobile.
The Panama Canal? An American first. The modern submarine? Yep, that’s us. The world’s first nuclear reactor? The machine gun? Check and check.

Even in rare moments when America doesn’t achieve something first or doesn’t live up to the idea – not ‘never’ as Biden said – we have corrected flaws and served as a beacon of hope as a leader in the free world.
The Emancipation Proclamation, for example. In it, Abraham Lincoln declared “that all persons held as slaves” within the rebellious states “are, and henceforward shall be free.”
With those words, America had begun to correct one of the most glaring blights on a nation founded on freedom and liberty.
While late to act during World War II, America’s entry into the global war theater, in a simplified summation, saved the world from Nazi Germany and Imperial Japan.
America is far and away the leader of the world in legal immigration.
There is a reason over 50 million immigrants have come to America since 1960, more than the next four nations combined. It’s because the places they come from pale in comparison to this exceptional nation – and they want to become a part of more American firsts.
In terms of charity, America was the most charitable nation in 2022, whether it is providing funds or time to others.
Maybe, come to think of it, President Biden, the one flaw America has had is the Democrat Party. The one party that has not lived up to the idea of American exceptionalism. And you’re their leader.
What do you have to say about that?

America isn’t just an idea, Joe. It’s an achievement. It’s something all other nations aspire to be.
Yes, even when you’re the man leading it.
