Beto’s Remarks On Taxing Religious Institutions That Don’t Recognize Gay Marriage Were Uncalled For

Last week, CNN hosted an LGBTQ Town Hall with 2020 Democratic candidates. What I couldn’t get through my head is when Beto O’Rourke hit religion and churches when he said that he would punish churches that oppose same-sex marriage by taking away their tax-exempt status.

I grew up in a church environment for 18 years. His words made me squirm because even though I don’t think he will become president, some other Democratic fool will pick up the mantle and if they are ever elected back into the Oval Office, they could, by executive order, attack churches and religious institutions in this fashion.

Lemon: “Congressman, I want to ask you a question. This is from your LGBTQ plan, and here’s what you write. This is a quote. Freedom of religion is a fundamental right but it should not be used to discriminate. Do you think religious institutions, like colleges, churches, charities, should they lose their tax-exempt status if they oppose same-sex marriage?”

O’Rourke: “Yes. There can be no reward, no benefit, no tax break for anyone or any institution, any organization in America that denies the full human rights and the full civil rights of every single one of us. And so as president, we’re going to make that a priority and we are going to stop those who are infringing upon the human rights of our fellow Americans.”

Beto’s latest bid for left-wing love came at a CNN forum on gay rights, where he said that churches that oppose same-sex marriage should have to pay taxes.” In other words, he wants to act as if he is God and makes his own bible.

It’s almost like Beto is actively working against the Democrat party. Speaking so openly about confiscating guns and going after churches pretty much guarantees none of those voters will go anywhere near the Democrat party for decades to come.

O’Rourke is desperate. He’s as likely going to succeed in this as I am going to turn into an orange spontaneously.

But his words are troubling. The fact that a candidate agreed to tax churches that disagree with LGBT activists is utterly disturbing, no matter what you think of churches themselves. This kind of selective taxation is nothing short of a plan for tyranny.

IF the policy was ever (heaven forbid) implemented, then the people shouldn’t obey it. It’s outright unconstitutional. I’d think they’d be justified in rebelling.

Is she A Victim Now? Rep. Ilhan Omar Tweets “Trump Called Me An ‘America-hating socialist’ And A ‘Disgrace’

I always felt that Churches have absolutely no obligation to support or condone things they don’t agree with of any sort. Any candidate that doesn’t understand this freedom is not worthy of being considered for public office.

My message to the people in the LGBT movement – the Democrats do not care about you the way you want them to. They want your vote with the intention of running away from their empty promises.

Wake up and stop depending on them. It’s disgusting how these politicians continue to use people to get votes, so they pretend they care. How can anyone believe this clown if he doesn’t know who he is?

O’Rourke is poorly educated on the First Amendment. You can’t tax churches because they don’t do or believe what you want them to. O’Rourke may not be the anti-Christ, but he is trying to help pave the way for him.
