Bernie’s New Press Secretary Can’t Vote For Him Because She’s An Illegal Immigrant

Bernie Sanders has announced that Belén Sisa, a millennial Arizona left-wing activist, will serve as his deputy national press secretary during the 2020 campaign.

And while she will encourage others to vote for her boss, Sisa herself cannot cast a vote. She’s an illegal immigrant.

“This is really emotional for me. I can’t help but think of 18-year-old Belén, who felt hopeless and powerless to the anti-immigrant attacks and policies that were holding her back from her dreams,” the newly minted press secretary wrote on Facebook.

The word ‘dream’ seems rather ironic in this case, as Sisa has claimed her residence in the United States is protected under the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) program. She’s a ‘dreamer.’

Barack Obama created the DACA program by issuing a memorandum to protect so-called dreamers, bypassing Congress.

Bernie’s Defense of Illegals

While the move to place an illegal immigrant as the public face of your campaign is certainly brazen, it’s not surprising. It’s a direct shot at Americans who prefer law and order to chaos, if not a slap at President Trump himself.

Sanders has consistently fought against the President’s immigration enforcement and border wall platforms. He criticized the recent government shutdown but remained unwilling to convince fellow Democrats to negotiate on funding for the wall.

He has railed against the President for supposed lies about the border wall – including those which have been proven true, including the terror threat and the opioid threat.

It’s no wonder that an open borders presidential candidate would put an illegal in the country as the result of open borders at the helm of his campaign.

More on Sisa

Sisa is an already fairly well known ‘Dreamer,’ having gone viral in 2017 by posting an image of herself with a form that proved she paid taxes to the state of Arizona.

She faced some backlash when people began reporting her for a recommendation to be deported.

“I’ve been paying taxes for the past 4 years since I’ve had DACA. I always get annoyed and kind of angry because I pay taxes but all you hear is that we don’t,” she said.

Sisa has been arrested multiple times for her activism in supporting illegal immigrants, including a six-day stint in jail.

In 2016, Sisa admitted she could not vote, and that’s not likely to change this go around.

“Even though I can’t vote, I can get 200 people to vote, and that matters,” Sisa said at the time. “Everything can change depending on who becomes the next president.”

All the more reason it was so important for Trump to have defeated Hillary. And why it will be equally important he wins again in 2020.
