On Sunday, Fox News reported that White House Press Secretary Jen Psaki is “out of office” this week while the Taliban takes over Afghanistan.
As a follow-up, The Daily Caller confirmed Psaki’s absence during this tumultuous time by emailing her. The conservative news outlet received an auto-reply from her email account that read, “I will be out of the office from August 15th-August 22nd.”

Biden Silent On Changing Situation In Afghanistan
By Friday, after U.S. troop withdrawal from the country, the Taliban had taken over Kabul, including the presidential palace.
Reports indicate that the Taliban are planning to declare the “Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.”
Rep. Jim Banks, who is also a Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan, asked on Twitter as the chaos in Afghanistan continued to erupt on Sunday, “Where is Joe Biden?”
The White House did break its silence to share a picture that purports to show Biden being briefed on the situation by top advisers.
“This morning, the President and Vice President met with their national security team and senior officials to hear updates on the draw down of our civilian personnel in Afghanistan, evacuations of SIV applicants and other Afghan allies, and the ongoing security situation in Kabul,” the White House posted on Twitter.

President Will Address The Chaos In Afghanistan In The ‘Next Few Days’
CNN reported that, “Biden does not appear as though he will be addressing the nation Sunday night, instead opting to take up the issue in the ‘next few days’ as he remains at Camp David.”
Many commentators have noted the similarity of the final moments in Afghanistan to the fall of Saigon in 1975.
Shocking images apparently show people storming the airport in Kabul, the lone remaining major area outside of Taliban control.

Chaotic scenes continue at Kabul Airport. Overnight people slept on the plane, ripped seats off etc etc. We are still seeing thousands of people on the tarmac. No flights can take off. Where the hell are the Americans (who had promised security)?? This is Saigon on steroids pic.twitter.com/XzMwM8ENxX

Interestingly, the AP managed to capture images of Chinook helicopters leaving the American embassy in both countries.
