Far-left Representative Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (AOC) faced a heated confrontation with pro-Palestinian protesters outside a movie theater in New York City on Monday.

The protesters demanded that she call Israel’s military campaign in Gaza a “genocide.”

In response, the New York lawmaker expressed her frustration with protesters confronting her in public.

“I need you to understand that this is not OK,” AOC said of the situation in which she and fiancé Riley Roberts were accosted.

“It’s not OK that there’s a genocide happening and you’re not actively against it,” the protester shot back.

One man can be seen holding an iPhone up, egging her on, and hoping to catch a moment where she lost her cool. And AOC promptly delivered.

AOC insisted she has publicly defined the conflict as a “genocide” which would be news to the public.

“I already said that it was and y’all are just gonna pretend that it wasn’t over and over again. It’s f***ed up, man,” she fumed. “And you’re not helping these people, and you’re not helping them, you’re not helping them.”

AOC Confronted By Protesters Who Made Her Feel Uncomfortable

This author has consistently expressed his disdain for people protesting lawmakers, athletes, and entertainers when they’re trying to enjoy time with their families in public.

It’s a base level of decency to let them be. Now, if they’re in the course of their work in public – say, holding a press conference outside a building – then people have the right.

Accosting AOC outside a movie theater is sad and pathetic. That said, these are leftist protesters (their hatred of Israel gives that away) and Ocasio-Cortez herself has previously urged hecklers to make politicians or public figures uncomfortable as much as possible.

“The whole point of protesting is to make [people] uncomfortable,” she wrote on X in 2020, an ironic twist.

“Activists take that discomfort w/ the status quo & advocate for concrete policy changes. Popular support often starts small & grows,” she added. “To folks who complain protest demands make others uncomfortable… that’s the point.”

Hecklers Like To Target Ocasio-Cortez

AOC seems to be a rich target for protesters, perhaps because she has encouraged them to do so in the past and they’re simply taking her up on the offer.

In one of the more recent incidents, New Yorkers let her have it over the illegal immigration crisis taking over the city that never sleeps.

In 2022, she was interrupted on multiple occasions by protesters upset with funding for the Ukraine War and pushing the United States closer to a worldwide nuclear confrontation.

In one such instance, she mocked the protesters by dancing to their chants.

Ocasio-Cortez previously revealed that she was in therapy to learn to cope with the “extraordinarily traumatizing” Capitol protest in 2021.

Her therapist must be doing a decent job as she confronted the pro-Hamas hecklers rather effectively. Or maybe it’s simply because those are Democrat voters and she’s not frightened by them.
