It takes a lot of nerve to grab jobs away from people in the name of “progress.”

But to revisit the scene of the travesty and gloat about it?
That takes gall.
There was much of that to go around on Saturday at a location in Long Island City close to where the Amazon headquarters would have been built, as Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-N.Y.) — at a rally — endorsed Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) for the 2020 Democratic nomination for the presidency.

AOC modestly commented, “It wasn’t until I heard of a man by the name of Bernie Sanders that I began to question and assert and recognize my inherent value as a human being that deserves health care, housing, education and a living wage,” as Fox News reported of her comments.
In other words, Ocasio-Cortez reduced national issues of vital importance to a laundry list of things supposedly owed to her by society.
The situation Bernie Sanders is in: He just held the biggest rally of the primary, raised more money than anyone in the last quarter, won one of the most prized endorsements in the Democratic Party, and is polling behind Pete Buttigieg at 9% in Iowa in the new USA Today survey. https://t.co/Arb2ZRofCJ

This is the article NBC runs the day after Bernie Sanders and AOC drew the largest crowd of any Democrat running in 2020.
The literal day after. https://t.co/4mpZOwPNaH

New York City Republican challenger Scherie Murray is not buying this one bit: “They did this with 25,000 people, we heard, but omitted the fact that they killed 25,000 jobs by killing the Amazon deal right there in that part of town.”

New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio, a Democrat, backed the Amazon project — as did New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo, also a Democrat.
They are both members of the left wing of the Democratic Party — DeBlasio more so. (That, of course, assumes there are moderate and right wings of the party, a contention open to debate these days.)
Murray said Sanders and Ocasio-Cortez want to “keep the government’s hands in the pockets of everyday Americans,” and that “we have to put a stop to this far-Left socialist movement that is going to ruin America.”
Now that AOC — formerly a Bronx bartender — has quickly become a hard-Left force to be reckoned with on Capitol Hill, the local race for her congressional seat next year will draw national attention.
Given that the congressional district leans heavily Democratic in registration and turnout, it will be a hard slog for any Republican.
However, just as the freshman member of the so-called squad took out powerful Dem incumbent Joe Crowley in the 2018 Democrat primary, Murray hopes to torpedo her in the general election of 2020. Murray first will have to take on other candidates who are also eager to gain the nationwide exposure that beating Ocasio-Cortez would garner.

Ruth Papazian, one of the other GOP candidates and a prominent contender for the seat, told LifeZette on Monday, “It’s a fair bet that none of the hipsters cheering the socialist platitudes that Bernie and AOC spouted at the rally live in these NYCHA [New York City Housing Authority] developments — or have felt the desperation of those who do.”
Papazian is a lifelong Bronx resident and a medical journalist. She’s running on a platform of creating jobs — not killing them.
“Those citizens,” she also told LifeZette, “need a job that pays enough money to enable them to move somewhere with working elevators, heat and hot water in the winter, and to be safe from gang- and drug-related violence.”

Reps. Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) and Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) also endorsed Sanders for president in 2020 — as the Vermont independent winds up with the trifecta of far-Left House celebs who are sure to draw to his colors many undergrads across the nation from whom he doesn’t already claim fealty.
The people who lost those 25,000 jobs?

She’s job shopping. She knows the likelihood of her being reelected back to Congress is about the same as the rest of the squad. Which is very, very slim. She’s trying to ride Bernies coattails somewhere. But I don’t think that’s going to far.
AOC is just the perfect match to help Bolshevik Bernie with HIS job-killing moves.
AOC just trolling for a new job when she’s replaced.
The IQ of her voters has to be a an all time low, like 25 on a good day. Bet she was a HORRIBLE bar tender DUH !!
I’m in Congress, you elected me. So obviously I know more than you! So shut up and let me take over and destroy the rest of yours and everybody else’s lives!
