Noted historian and foreign policy expert Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez expressed her belief in a recent interview that the targeting of Iranian cultural sites by America is “an extension of white supremacy.”
Ocasio-Cortez made the comments during an MLK Now 2020 event earlier this week.
“In speaking about war too, I’ve been thinking a lot about when Trump tweeted that he was going to target cultural sites in Iran,” she said revealing she doesn’t often think a lot.
“Really what that really means,” AOC continued. “And really how that functions not just in our society but also how it is an extension of white supremacy in that the goal of all of this is to erase history and erase our understanding.”
There must be a contest somewhere awarding people a prize for concocting the most absurd link between two things that have nothing to do with each other.
If so, AOC has a stranglehold on first place with her ‘climate change = World War II,’ ‘illegal immigration centers = concentration camps,’ and now the ‘military strategy = white supremacy’ efforts.

War Crime
At the height of American tensions with Iran over the killing of terror leader Qassem Soleimani, President Trump warned the rogue nation against taking retaliatory actions against the United States.
In doing so, he confirmed that the U.S. military was prepared to target 52 Iranian sites, some of which the United Nations Security Council identified as cultural heritage sites.
“They’re allowed to kill our people. They’re allowed to torture and maim our people. They’re allowed to use roadside bombs and blow up our people,” Trump explained. “And we’re not allowed to touch their cultural site? It doesn’t work that way.”
The President would later walk back the threat, but not before AOC slammed him, claiming “targeting cultural sites is a war crime.”
She added, “They tell humanity’s story – that is why authoritarians target them. They want to erase history.”
Some Southerners might want to have a discussion with you about Confederate-era statues.
Targeting cultural sites is a war crime.
It should also go without saying that sites like Persepolis (& its PEOPLE) are not only treasures to Iranians, they are gifts to humanity.

Seeing White Supremacy Everywhere
Bear in mind that this is the same individual who said age might be effecting Joe Biden’s mental capacity. Which begs the question – what is this young lady’s excuse?
It must be a tragic mindset to almost literally see racism and white supremacy at every turn.
Ocasio-Cortez has previously compared opponents of her environmental extremist policy – the Green New Deal – to racists fighting against the civil rights movement of the 1960s.

“This is going to be the Great Society, the moonshot, the civil rights movement of our generation,” she said of fighting global warming prior to her first day in Congress.
Ignorance, at the level that AOC possesses, is more akin to the ignorance of pre-civil rights racists than anything the Trump administration has done.
