Governor Cuomo Just Turned All of New York Into a Safe Space For Whining Liberals

Give me your tired, your poor, your huddled masses … of whining, sniveling, foot-stomping liberals incapable of dealing with the real world?

That might be the new version of The New Colossus, the poem adorning the pedestal of the Statue of Liberty, if New York’s Governor Andrew Cuomo gets his way.

Cuomo just released a social media statement in which he has essentially labeled his state a so-called ‘safe space’ for liberals traumatized by the election of Donald Trump.

“As New Yorkers, we have fundamentally different philosophies than what Donald Trump laid out in his campaign,” Cuomo stated.

“So let me be absolutely clear: If anyone feels they are under attack, I want them to know that the state of New York – the state that has the Statue of Liberty in its harbor – is their refuge.”

He adds, “Whether you are gay or straight, Muslim or Christian, rich or poor, black or white or brown, we respect all people in the state of New York.”

Hmm … about that “we respect all people in the state of New York” part.

In January of 2014, Cuomo said not everyone is welcome in New York state.  The governor stated that Second Amendment supporters, believers in traditional marriage, and those who are pro-life “have no place in the state of New York.”

That doesn’t sound like somebody who “respects all people.”

Aside from conservatives in general not being welcome in New York, President Elect Donald Trump is specifically not welcome in Cuomo’s eyes either. Toward the beginning of Trump’s campaign, Cuomo said he’d like to deport his future president.

“If I believed in deportation,” Cuomo said, “He’d (Trump) have a real problem.”

Apparently, New York only has their doors open as a place of refuge for those who share his warped values, are in the country illegally, or are simply frightened easily by the real world. In other words, liberals
