Star Wars Actor Adam Driver Teams Up With Budweiser For Amazing Surprise For Military Family

The Force is strong with this one.

American actor, Adam Driver, best known for his role as the villain Kylo Ren in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, played the role of a good guy in real life recently.

Driver shocked a military family when he showed up to present them with a college scholarship for their daughter, who is studying to be a nurse and had struggled to make ends meet since an injury had befallen her father.

In the short Budweiser documentary-like video below, timed to coincide with the 4th of July, Driver is shown on his journey to deliver the news to the family.

Adam Driver shocked a military family when he turned up to present them with a college scholarship for their daughter.

In a video posted online Tuesday, the 33-year-old actor is spotted driving to Brodheadsville, Pennsylvania, where he delivered a scholarship to Hayley Grace Williams, who is studying to become a nurse. Her father was injured during a training exercise before Operation Desert Storm.

The scholarship comes from a partnership between Budweiser and Folds of Honor, a foundation that provides educational scholarships for the children and spouses of disabled and fallen service men and women.

Driver’s own story is similar to Hayley’s father. He had served in the United States Marines but suffered a broken sternum during a mountain biking accident just before he was set to deploy to Iraq.

“I felt so guilty that I didn’t really get to finish my service,” Driver says.

So the Folds of Honor foundation holds a special place in his heart.

“I feel very privileged to be a part of the work that Folds of Honor and Budweiser are doing in their support of our military community and highlighting the importance of the family surrounding them,” Driver said in a statement.
