Healther Lind, an actress best known for her role in the series Turn: Washington’s Spies, has accused former President George H.W. Bush, 93, of sexually assaulting her from his wheelchair during a photo-op four years ago.
Lind posted her story on Instagram, saying “he (Bush) sexually assaulted me while I was posing for a … photo.”
She claims the assault took place right in front of his wife, former First Lady Barbara Bush.
“He didn’t shake my hand,” she wrote. “He touched me from behind from his wheelchair with his wife Barbara Bush by his side. He told me a dirty joke.”
The photo in which she claims the assault occurred can be seen below …

The former President issued a statement in response, apologizing, but more so for a misinterpretation of an attempt at humor. It is nowhere near an admission that anything inappropriate happened.
“President Bush would never – under any circumstance – intentionally cause anyone distress, and he most sincerely apologizes if his attempt at humor offended Ms. Lind,” the statement reads.

Lind claims the touching didn’t just happen one time during the photo shoot.
“And then, all the while being photographed, touched me again,” she said. “Barbara rolled her eyes as if to say ”not again.’
That’s one person’s interpretation. Barbara may have been rolling her eyes as if to say ‘bad joke’ too.
Lind also hints that others at the photo-op saw what took place.
“My fellow cast-mates and producers helped me that day and continue to support me,” she wrote.

Skepticism abounds on social media. One reader wrote, “Why didn’t you say this four years ago instead of now?”
Another wrote more vociferously against the actress.
“You are terrible,” they responded. “He was 89 years old and has some Dementia and Vascular Parkinson’s. You were not sexually assaulted. You cheapen every person that was. This is not political. I have never voted for a Bush or a republican in my life. This is just wrong.”
The final line in a report by the Daily Mail is the kicker – “The actress has not offered definitive evidence of the alleged misconduct.”
Yet they, and others in the mainstream media will be running with it like wildfire today.
