Has Fox News host Abby Huntsman been infected by Trump Derangement Syndrome or a Freudian variation of the illness? Because I never expected to hear something like this on Fox News. Maybe CNN. Maybe MSNBC. Maybe even MTV. But not on Fox News.
The host of “Fox & Friends” on the weekend actually referred to Trump as a “dictator” during a news segment on the President’s Singapore meeting with North Korean leader Kim Jong-un.
Here is her quote, via The Hill:
“There we have him. There is the president of the United States, Donald Trump, about to walk down those stairs, stepping foot in Singapore as we await this historic summit with the North Korean dictator Kim Jong Un,” Huntsman said.
“This is history we are living, regardless of what happens in that meeting between the two dictators. What we are seeing right now, this is history,” she said.
This was a bizarre remark considering that Huntsman doesn’t have a big history of being critical of Trump. As far as I can tell, she’s never been a vocal Never-Trumper. And her father, a former Utah governor, is now the Administration’s ambassador to Russia. (RELATED: Trump To Name Jon Huntsman As Ambassador To Russia).
It’s true that Jon Huntsman is a political moderate, and his family likely shares his views. But, even if Abby Huntsman did go full-blown “Resistance” freedom fighter, there’s no need for this kind of language.
Huntsman later apologized on Twitter for her remark:
Apologized on the show. I’ll never claim to be a perfect human being. We all have slip ups in life, I have many :) now let’s all move on to things that actually matter. https://t.co/k2hGjZcHRB

It’s good she clarified her statement. But there’s no doubt liberal publications have already picked up on it, and are spinning it to make it seem like even Fox has turned on President Trump.
Take a look at some of the liberal snark the verbal slip has drawn:
Don’t apologize

Sorry, @HuntsmanAbby, but this is a Freudian slip. The man who said, “only I can fix” wants to be a dictator.

Never underestimate the ability of the left to exploit a mistake for their own benefit.
