North Korea Leader Kim Jong-un Responds to President Trump – Threatens to Test Hydrogen Bomb

This week, President Trump spoke in front of the United Nations for the first time. In his speech, the president singled out North Korea, promising that the United States could “totally destroy” the rogue nation. He also notably referred to the North Korean dictator Kim Jong-un as “Rocket Man,” a name that has apparently been popular among the international community. Thanks to our president’s genius for branding, other world leaders are mocking Jong-un as “Rocket Man.”

But words are cheap. And President Trump followed up on his tough rhetoric with tough action.

Yesterday, the president imposed new sanctions against North Korea. By executive order, he created new rules that would penalize any company or person doing business with North Korea by either cutting off their access to the U.S. financial system, freezing their assets, or both. Trump also announced that China’s state central bank had asked its own banks to cut all ties with North Korea.

The move with China could be very significant, as the following video explains:

All this pressure apparently got to Jong-un. Last night, “Rocket Man” fired back (not with a rocket, though).

As the Washington Post reported, “Kim reacted angrily to Trump’s remarks and actions this week, calling the president a ‘mentally deranged U.S. dotard’ and Trump’s earlier speech at the U.N. ‘unprecedented rude nonsense.'”

The diminutive dictator continued, promising to make “the U.S. pay dearly for his speech.”

Wow. That escalated quickly.

Now Jong-un is reportedly preparing to test a hydrogen bomb in the Pacific Ocean as a show of force against the U.S.

In times like these, we need a strong leader who is unwilling to back down to threats or intimidation.

That’s why it’s a good thing we have President Trump in the Oval Office. Unlike the last president, he won’t bow down to dictators hellbent on annihilating our country.

What do you think? Is President Trump up to the task of defending the U.S. against North Korea? Tell us your thoughts below, and share this story on Facebook and Twitter!
