What better way to prevent those with a complete disregard for our nation’s laws, than to have others who also disregard the law aid in stopping them?
Such is the case with one Massachusetts sheriff, who is offering inmates to President-elect Donald Trump as labor to help build a border wall between the U.S. and Mexico.
Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson, a Republican, said he’d be willing to send inmates to the border to do just that.
“I can think of no other project that would have such a positive impact on our inmates and our country than building this wall,” Hodgson said.

Bristol County Sheriff Thomas Hodgson has made a personal offer to President-elect Donald J. Trump: Bristol County inmates will be available to help build Trump’s border wall with Mexico.
Yes, really.
“I can think of no other project that would have such a positive impact on our inmates and our country than building this wall,” Hodgson, a Republican, said in remarks at his inaugural ceremony Wednesday night at Bristol Community College.
He did not address who would pay to transport, house, and secure local inmates while they labor on the wall project. Trump, however, has said Mexico will pay for the wall.
The sheriff explained his thinking – “Aside from learning and perfecting construction skills, the symbolism of these inmates building a wall to prevent crime in communities around the country, and to preserve jobs and work opportunities for them and other Americans upon release, can be very powerful.”
Naturally, the American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU) whose main concern is anything but the civil liberties of actual Americans, responded with disgust.
“The proposal is perverse,” a spokesperson said.
They went on to blast Trump’s border security plan as … well, take a guess:
“The wall itself . . . is based on racism and hatred, and no self-respecting Massachusetts official should have anything to do with it.”
Of course, border walls are racist. You didn’t know?
Apparently President Obama didn’t either, considering he had the White House border fence raised a few feet to stop criminals from illegally entering his yard.
Pure racism and hatred right there.
