Fox News host Tucker Carlson celebrated as the House failed on three separate attempts to secure enough votes for Kevin McCarthy to become the next Speaker.

Except, he didn’t describe it as chaos, as the mainstream media has giddily done.

Instead, Carlson said it is an ongoing and open debate, it’s “refreshing,” and it’s the exact opposite of what you get with the Democrat Party that votes in line with each other like an “oligarchy.”

“The fact that this race has not been settled by now is being described by many, especially online, as embarrassing,” Carlson said during his Tuesday night broadcast

“And it is embarrassing – if you prefer the Soviet-style consensus of the Democratic Party’s internal elections … That’s what they do.”

“But if you prefer democracy to oligarchy, if you prefer real debate about issues that actually matter,” he countered, “it’s pretty refreshing to see it.”

Tucker Carlson Shreds McCarthy After Failed House Speaker Votes

Tucker Carlson continued to rip Kevin McCarthy after his numerous failed attempts at securing the House Speaker role, describing him as “ideologically agnostic” and suggesting his true constituents are lobbyists.

“Kevin McCarthy of California wants to be speaker,” Carlson said. “He wants that job more than anything else in his life.”

“And he was going to get it, but a group of 20 Republican members stopped him because they decided that Kevin McCarthy is not conservative enough to represent a party that’s just taken back the House from Nancy Pelosi.”

Carlson quipped: “They are definitely right about that.”

“McCarthy is not especially conservative. He’s in fact ideologically agnostic. He’s flexible,” Carlson continued. “His real constituency is the lobbying community in Washington.”

The Fox News host suggested if McCarthy wants to win the Speakership, he must concede to two actions – releasing ALL of the January 6th files and appointing Representative Thomas Massie to head a “Frank Church committee” to study the FBI.

The original Church committee was formed in 1975 to study abuses in various intelligence departments, including the FBI, CIA, and IRS.

A Democrat Puppet?

If Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) is surprised by the blowback to his bid to become the next House Speaker, he shouldn’t be.

The Political Insider reported in November that the GOP leader was getting criticism following a lackluster performance for his party in the midterms.

“Knives are out for Kevin McCarthy,” one source told Fox News White House correspondent Jacqui Heinrich.

Another suggested the GOP needed “new energized leadership that is going to be focused on the working class voters.”

Does Kevin McCarthy fit the bill? His colleagues in the House have yet to commit to the notion. But he does seem willing to concede to Carlson’s demands.

Tucker has often criticized McCarthy, becoming more vociferous with his complaints after audio surfaced of the lawmaker condemning former President Donald Trump and some of his most resolute allies in Congress, even suggesting their social media accounts be banned.

“Those are the tape-recorded words of Congressman Kevin McCarthy, a man who in private, turns out, sounds like an MSNBC contributor,” Carlson countered.

He warned at the time that McCarthy becoming Speaker “would mean you would have a Republican Congress led by a puppet of the Democratic Party.”

If he hopes to prove otherwise, the California lawmaker better shift from ‘ideologically agnostic’ to ‘staunch conservative’ in a hurry.
