President Trump, in the middle of his speech at the annual National Rifle Association (NRA) meeting, announced that he is pulling the United States out of an anti-gun U.N. Arms Trade Treaty.
“Under my administration, we will never surrender American sovereignty to anyone, we will never allow foreign bureaucrats to trample on your Second Amendment freedom and that is why my administration will never ratify the U.N. trade treaty,” he told an appreciative audience.
He then signed a notice to the Senate that he is withdrawing the U.S. signature on the treaty, which was originally signed by Barack Obama in 2013. obama sent it to the Senate for ratification
“I am officially announcing today that the United States will be revoking the effect of America’s signature from this badly misguided treaty, we’re taking our signature back,” he said.
Bad Treaty
The NRA has described the treaty as “read[ing] like the source manual for the global anti-firearm agenda.”
The group has denounced it as “a means to almost entirely limit civilian access to small arms under the guise of International Humanitarian Law” and would lead to “licensing and registration of all firearms” in member countries.
Russia and China, major arms exporters, are not bound by the treaty, meaning Obama was effectively making citizens in America more vulnerable.
The Gun Owners of America also denounced the Arms Trade Treaty saying it “would fully implement a system of gun owner registration if ratified by the U.S. Senate.”
No need to worry about that now thanks to President Trump’s effort to protect our country’s sovereignty and stand up for our constitutional rights.

Trump Protects the Second Amendment
The White House website states that the President’s withdrawal from this treaty ensures “this agreement will not become a platform to threaten Americans’ Second Amendment rights.”
Trump vowed that as long as Republicans are in Congress and the Supreme Court has constitutionalists as justices, the Second Amendment “will never be repealed!”

“By taking these actions, we are reaffirming that American liberty is sacred and that American citizens live by American laws not by laws of foreign countries,” Trump said to the NRA crowd.
