In the days and weeks following President Donald J. Trump’s historic inauguration celebration, the left did their best to minimize the event. At every turn, the liberal media tried to downplay the size of President Trump’s inauguration crowd, both in person and on television.
But now it’s confirmed that despite all the liberal attacks, President Trump’s inauguration officially was bigger than Barack Obama’s 2009 inauguration, according to a Federal Election Commission filing.
In the filing, President Trump’s inaugural committee raised a record $106.7 million, which is approximately double that of Barack Obama, who raised around $53 million for his 2009 extravaganza.

The January ceremony included dozens of events over a six-day period. A press release issued Tuesday hailed it as “one of the most accessible and affordable inaugurations for the public in recent history.”
“The amount of funds raised for the inaugural celebration allowed the president to give the American people, those both at home and visiting Washington, a chance to experience the incredible moment in our democracy where we witness the peaceful transition of power, a cornerstone of American democracy,” committee chairman Tom Barrack said in a statement.
Though the committee didn’t reveal how much of the funds are left over, the remaining amount will be donated to charity.
The Associated Press noted that Trump “held three inaugural balls, compared with the 10 Obama had at his first inaugural. Trump’s team also shortened its parade to about 90 minutes. The longest parade, with 73 bands and 59 floats, lasted more than four-and-a-half hours, at Dwight Eisenhower’s first inauguration in 1953.”
Unlike past presidents, President Trump’s inaugural parade was much more low-key, which Barrack said was to capture the “soft sensuality” of Washington, rather than have the event feature elite Hollywood celebrities with no connection to the millions of Americans who turned out to vote for Trump.
Unsurprisingly, the left viciously mocked President Trump for his lack of so-called A-list celebrities, but the president was more focused on representing the American people, not Hollywood elites.
