Ted Cruz Just Torpedoed Pelosi For Her Elaborate Impeachment Signing Ceremony

Senator Ted Cruz blasted Nancy Pelosi and Democrats for Wednesday’s impeachment signing ceremony, an event which was decidedly not somber, serious, or prayerful.

The event featured a myriad of golden pens handed out as mementos, smiles, picture taking, and fist pumps.

“Nancy Pelosi’s souvenir pens served up on silver platters to sign the sham articles of impeachment,” White House press secretary Stephanie Grisham tweeted in disgust.

Cruz took particular aim at those little commemorative pens, and crushed the Democrat charade in all of twelve words.

“Given the circus in the House, I’m surprised she didn’t use crayons,” he tweeted.

Pelosi Criticized by CNN

Honestly, Cruz’s addition of circus tent and crayon emojis is next-level.

He wasn’t the only one calling out the House Speaker for the pomp and circumstance surrounding an event she insisted was somber and caused her to pray daily.

Even normally compliant CNN hosts called the optics “jarring” and “off-message.”

“It was unusual to see that kind of ceremony and handing out the pens and smiling for a picture in this kind of situation where the House Speaker has bent over backwards to say publicly and privately this is somber, this is not a time for celebration,” host Dana Bash said.

“You heard Nancy Pelosi say that this is a sad and tragic day, and then there she is holding up the pen and having photographs taken with those pens, so it is a little off-message,” her guest added.

Fist Pumps and Smiles

Aside from golden pens, Pelosi was caught pumping her hand with excitement when she announced that President Trump is impeached “forever.”

California Rep. Maxine Waters (D) was seen holding her pen aloft, an unerasable smile stapled to her face.

“This afternoon’s show from Pelosi and crew underscores just how bogus their impeachment charade is,” the Republican National Committee said in a statement.

More than a charade, it is, as Ted Cruz suggests, a clown show.
