Surgeon General Owns Tapper on White House Coronavirus Response

Jake Tapper

CNN’s Jake Tapper was just owned by Dr. Jerome Adams, the U.S. Surgeon General, on President Donald Trump’s response to the coronavirus.

Tapper Goes After Surgeon General

Tapper interviewed Dr. Adams on his show, “State of the Union” on Sunday, and attempted to criticize President Trump and the White House on their response to the coronavirus, but found the Surgeon General to be a tough opponent. Tapper first went after Adams by implying the administration was lying about the coronavirus.

“Have you expressed your desire for people in the White House to share the facts and be honest?” he asked Adams.

Adams said that the messaging was “quite hard,” but that “from a public health point of view… the first thing you want to try to do is contain the virus. And some parts of the country have contained it, meaning their preventing spread in their communities in the first place.”

Tapper interruped Adams and claimed they didn’t actually know the full spread of the virus, but Adams shot back.

“What we do know is that if we had massive numbers of cases, we would be seeing more deaths. And so, we actually feel pretty good that some parts of the country have contained it, just like when you look at the flu,” he explained, adding that “when we look at the flu tracker, some parts of the country are having much more severe flu seasons. Some are having very mild flu seasons. The same thing for coronavirus.”

“That’s Not a Medical Decision – That’s a Public Relations Decision”

Tapper claimed that the President is trying to keep the numbers of coronavirus victims in America “artificially low,” by quarantining people on the cruise ships.

“He said he doesn’t want to bring people in because the number will double. That’s not a medical decision, that’s a public relations decision,” he claimed.

Adams said he didn’t want to play politics, but he pointed out that some people had been flown off of the ships, and the CDC had flown teams on.

“As far as the cruise ships are concerned, our priorities are, number one, making sure people who are on those cruise ships and who need medical attention can get it,” Adams said, adding that the President amplified the voices of the doctors in the Situation Room, such as himself, Bob Kadlec, Tony Fauci and Ben Carson.

“You have multiple doctors in the room and our voices are in no way, shape, or form suppressed. As a matter of fact, the Vice President usually starts and ends by saying, ‘Doctors, is there anything I need to hear that I’m not hearing?'” Adams recounted.

Stop Watching CNN!

Tapper later demanded to know the exact number of Americans who had been tested for coronavirus, constantly interrupting the Surgeon General despite Adams telling him the number was constantly in flux and he didn’t want to give false information. This, to me, really shows Tapper’s true colors. He’s not a fair, unbiased journalist – he is a partisan hack who only wants to push his narrative out to as many people as he can, the truth be damned. If you have cable TV still, now is the time to cut the cord and stop giving CNN any money.
