Sharpton: Kamala Harris Treated “Badly” Because She’s Black

Speaking to MSNBC’s “Deadline,” on Tuesday, race-baiter Al Sharpton claimed that Kamala Harris was forced to drop out of the presidential race simply because she was a black woman.

“I think that she ran a great race. I think that she is a great candidate,” Sharpton said, before rattling off Harris’s supposedly impressive credentials of being a Senator and Attorney General of California.

“I think she was definitely treated badly by the press,” he added, saying that he’d “never seen a candidate taken apart the way she was in the last several days.”

Sharpton’s Claims

Sharpton claimed that this attack in the press could clearly be attributed to her being a black, female candidate. “Women are held to a different standard,” he said. “Black women especially are held to a different standard.”

Of course! It’s not because she’s a terrible candidate, who was torn apart by Tulsi Gabbard on the debate stage for her horrible record as California AG, but because everyone else is simply racist and misogynistic!

It should come as no surprise that for Sharpton, the biggest problem of Harris dropping out is that “in the next debate, you have no black on that stage:”

The Democratic Party cannot have a stage where black voters do not see themselves reflected.Where they don’t see themselves reflected and expect that we’ll come out and vote in big numbers. You must have had black turnout, but we don’t turn up in the debate? There is something that is wrong with that, and some of us are not going to be quiet about it.

Identity Politics

I’m certainly not shocked that the serial race-baiter is only concerned about playing identity politics. And, I don’t think President Trump would be either. The President shot down Sharpton in July, when Sharpton accused him of racism. Trump also described Sharpton as “a con man, a troublemaker, always looking for a score,” who “hates whites and cops.”

When will Sharpton apologize for inflaming racial violence, like when he sparked riots against Jewish people in Brooklyn in 1991, resulting in the death of a Jewish student. And when will he apologize for his own racist statements that he has made in the past?  The good Reverend needs to take a long hard look in the mirror and think about who is truly ruining race relations in America today.
