More than a year after his death, controversy continues to surround the murder of DNC staffer Seth Rich – and Donald Trump Jr. has breathed new life into the theory that Rich was the source behind the leaked DNC emails.
On Monday, Trump Jr. published on Twitter a direct message conversation between himself and Wikileaks that took place in October 2016, just three months after Rich was shot in the back outside his Washington, D.C., home. Wikileaks begins the conversation, “Strongly suggest your dad tweets this link if he mentions us,” before directing Trump Jr. to the link “wlsearch.tk/“. The link leads to a website titled, “My Name Was Seth Rich.”
Here is the entire chain of messages with @wikileaks (with my whopping 3 responses) which one of the congressional committees has chosen to selectively leak. How ironic! 1/3 pic.twitter.com/SiwTqWtykA

The website only consists of one page, but the messages exchanged between Trump Jr. and the Wikileaks account indicate that there were more pages – and possibly documents – at one point in time. It’s unclear when the website was edited, who did it, or why.
Currently, the only text on the site begins, “You finally found me! I’m the source of the John Podesta/DNC Email hacks. I’ve been waiting so long for you to join me.”
It continues, written in the voice of Rich, “As you can see I’m no Russian agent. I was just a proud DNC staffer who believed in the system until I found out Hillary Clinton and the DNC rigged the primaries against my candidate Bernie Sanders. That’s when I decided to take action and release these emails to Wikileaks.”
It also accuses former Clinton campaign chair John Podesta of being a pedophile, referencing the far-right Pizzagate theory.
Interesting. https://t.co/B4pVQzetWK (the Wikileaks search site referenced in the #Wikileaks/Don Jr twitter DMs) is now showing this about #SethRich.
WHAT IS GOING ON?!
Can anyone shed some light on this? pic.twitter.com/XWQTXDVJu7— Bullshit Man (@bullshit_hero) November 14, 2017
The homepage concludes by implying that Wikileaks’ $20,000 reward for information on Rich’s murder is proof that he was their source. “Thanks again Wikileaks for upping my reward to solve my murder. I wonder why you’d do that for me? Oh, you are trying to tell the world I was your source. Whoops cat’s outta the bag now.”
To date, Wikileaks founder Julian Assange has not publicly confirmed or denied that Rich was their source.
WikiLeaks has never disclosed a source. Sources sometimes talk to other parties but identities never emerge from WikiLeaks. #SethRich

The murder of Seth Rich remains unsolved by authorities.
