Former Alaska governor Sarah Palin has some advice for Ron DeSantis regarding a 2024 presidential run – It’s not your time.
Palin offered up the guidance in an interview with NewsMax host Eric Bolling.
“DeSantis doesn’t need to [run]. I envision him as our president someday but not right now,” she said. “He should stay governor for a bit longer. He’s young, you know. He has decades ahead of him where he can be our president.”
Palin believes former President Donald Trump has the best chance of capturing the GOP nomination for President, and hinted any challenges to his frontrunner status are foolhardy.
“When you talk about the specific people, the individual people who are looking at putting their hat in the ring… they got a lot of guts thinking they’re gonna go up against Trump,” she contends.

Sarah Palin to DeSantis in 2024 — Sit This One Out
In further discussion about the 2024 presidential election, Sarah Palin seemingly angled for the role of Vice President alongside Trump, as opposed to what many believe to be a conservative dream pairing of the former President and DeSantis.
“Trump needs to choose somebody who, like him, has nothing to lose,” she advised, an apt description of Palin herself. “What more can they do to that person personally or verbal attacks or anything else on family?”
“That person has been through the wringer, so they know what they’re getting into. And that person then can just focus on doing what’s right for the people.”

Palin was famously put through the wringer — by Democrats, the media, and some Republicans — when she was chosen as the late Senator John McCain’s vice presidential running mate in 2008.
The brutal portrayal of her by the media as a bumbling fool has left a lasting mark even to this day.

Palin/Trump 2024?
In the interview, Bolling asked Palin flat-out if she was describing herself as the ideal candidate to run alongside Trump in 2024.
“Not necessarily,” she laughed.
“However, I’ll tell you, the opportunity that I had to run with someone who wasn’t as commonsense [of a] constitutional conservative as I, and I think the majority of Republicans were, but still having the opportunity to form a team like that in running, in offering ourselves up in service to America — oh my goodness, no greater honor, no greater opportunity,” she said referencing 2008.

That said, perhaps DeSantis should think twice before accepting political advice from Palin.
In McCain’s final book before his death, he wrote that he regretted choosing Palin as his running mate and wished he’d picked Joe Lieberman instead. Apparently, McCain thought adding a vanilla running mate to his already vanilla campaign would help.
He would have lost regardless, because McCain was too weak of a candidate to go up against Barack Obama.
Was it hurtful for Sarah Palin to hear that Sen. John McCain wishes he’d selected Joe Lieberman to be his presidential running mate?

Palin in 2022 lost elections to represent Alaska’s at-large congressional district twice — one, in a special election and another for the full term — despite being endorsed by Trump.
A recent Monmouth poll shows Trump and DeSantis tied as the leading choice amongst Republican voters for the GOP nomination in 2024.
Several other polls, however, show Trump with a clear advantage over the Florida governor, while the two seem light years ahead of any other challengers, including Nikki Haley who recently launched her own campaign.

As an Alaskan conservative Republican, I can tell you Sara is not as popular in Alaska as she claims to be. Thanks to her we had a gay marriage supporting Democrat, Mary Peltola, elected to fill the state’s representative to Congress position after years of Republican Don Young serving the state. I will never vote for this woman. She and her family, which is an embarrassment to the state, have turned off so many people that Peltola, with the help of outside money to hide her extremism, squeaked through a victory that should never have happened. It’s Sara that needs to stay out of the way.
No. Trump has denigrated his leadership performance with vicious namecalling and demands for personal attention to his own Petty Grievances, at a moment when leadership focus should be on the issues. DeSantis would bring a focus on unifying Republicans and Independents and Democrats willing to embrace solutions. Problem solving is what DeSantis dedicates his energies, too. We need DeSantis. We need him TODAY.
Sarah Palin would make a great VP. And as she says and I said a few months ago, Governor DeSantis needs to stay Governor for his entire term and then go for President in 2028.
I love DeSantis, best Governor Florida has ever had, however, he should finish what he started in Florida. He owes the State his full concentration and he needs more experience as Governor before he breaks out a campaign for President. President Donald J Trump should be elected in 2024. Voters have a right to see what he can do without Hillary Clinton or the democrat party or the DNC sabotaging his Presidency. He’s earned the right to serve as President without democrat collusion with Russia, and we all know that’s what they did. Trump 2024
What experience did Trump have as governor?
Does Palin still imagine that people care what she has to say?
As an Alaskan conservative Republican residing in Wasilla, I will say that there are many people like me that don’t care what she has to say.
I agree. So why put 2 strong leaders against each other, when the young one has plenty of time to run for president.
IF PRESIDENT TRUMP, PICKS A WOMAN AS VP, I’D LIKE TO SEE SARAH PALIN AS THAT WOMAN, SHE HAS EARNED IT MANY TIMES OVER.
Palin you had your time in the 5 minutes spotlight now do us a favor and retire somewhere and Hunt and fish nad STFU
Yeah, I definitely thinks she should re:DeSantis. Though I will vote for Trump if he is the candidate, I think that will be a blow to our chances to get the WH. I don’t care; I just know that I want a conservative in there. Sick of everything WOKE!
