Roseanne Barr is basking in the success of her Roseanne reboot, and she hinted Wednesday that she could take her talents to the White House in the future.
Barr, who ran for president as a member of the Green Party in 2012, told People that running again is “never off the table” – and she encouraged Americans to stop being complacent and get involved in the government and politics.
“I think we need to converse more, but more than anything we need to get involved and run our government for ourselves instead of sitting back and wanting somebody else to do it,” Barr said. “Even voting isn’t enough. You have to be involved. I talk about this with my grandkids – you have to get in there and get your hands dirty if you want things to go the way you want them to go. We’re lucky in this country that we can do that. We can really get our hands dirty and put our big collective shoulders to the wheel and change and fix things. I think that’s what’s exciting about our country right now.”
After spending decades as a political progressive, Barr voted for Donald Trump in 2016 in effort to “shake up the status quo.” She’s been unabashed about her support of Trump on social media since, and her conservative views are a focal point of the Roseanne revival – a fact that many Americans appreciate. A whopping 18.2 million people watched the double-episode series debut on Tuesday. Afterward, President Trump personally called Barr to congratulate her on the show’s ratings success.

But Trump better watch out – he might have some competition in 2020. “I’m going to keep running until I win,” Barr said.
