Reporter Challenges Ben Carson on Obama Psychopath Comments
Earlier this year, we reported on an unscripted moment during a GQ interview in which Dr. Ben Carson said President Obama lies and looks good doing it – just “like most psychopaths.”
Naturally, the left went apoplectic, even seeking out psychologists to prove that he was wrong. The Washington Post hilariously took this route, with one psychologist saying Carson was wrong about the President being a psychopath … he’s actually a “sociopath.”
Appearing in an online series on CNBC, Carson didn’t shy away from the controversial comments, though he did clarify that he didn’t say Obama was actually a psychopath, but rather, that he reminds one of a psychopath.
Carson explained (H/T: Daily Caller):
Appearing on CNBC’s online series “Speakeasy with John Harwood,” Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson defended comparing President Barack Obama to a psychopath, accusing him of lying about the unemployment rate.
“Obama, you referred to him as a psychopath,” Harwood noted. “What did you mean by that?”
“I said he reminds you of a psychopath,” Carson corrected.
“And tell me how.”
“Because they tend to be extremely smooth, charming people, who can tell a lie to your face with complete — it looks like sincerity, even though they know it’s a lie,” Carson said.
When asked if he thought Obama was a liar, Carson used the unemployment rate as an example.
“He knows full well the unemployment rate is not 5.5 percent,” Carson said. And yet he’ll tell people that “even though they’re sitting there in the city and can’t find a job.”
