American truckers are reportedly in the final planning stages for their very own ‘freedom convoy’ to Washington, D.C. over the next couple of weeks.
Fox News reports that The Great American Patriot Project is actively soliciting for truckers to join their convoy, which is currently planning on routes generating from Cleveland and Columbus, Ohio, as well as Fresno, California.
The group is also seeking contributions and volunteers for the event which is scheduled to end on March 6 in Washington where participants will meet with “a congressional welcome committee to discuss policy changes.”
“They don’t want to deal with these mandates and it’s kind of a way to stand up for all the American people against it,” a spokesperson for the PAC said of the American truckers.
All of the project’s routes are slated to begin in the early days of March.
Another effort dubbed “The People’s Convoy” is set to start in California on February 23rd, according to Newsweek.

Are The Americans Coming?
A ‘Freedom Convoy’ of American truckers would represent a sort of baton passing from the amazing patriots that have held firm against government overreach in Canada for weeks now.
Unfortunately, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has invoked ’emergency powers’ designed to combat terrorism in order to crack down on the peaceful protesters, allowing him to clear vehicles by having them towed and even freezing the bank accounts of protesters.
On Thursday, Canadian “Freedom Convoy” leader Tamara Lich was arrested by police in Ottawa according to various online reports.

Lich is expected to be charged criminally. She posted a video hours before the arrest anticipating what was coming but noting she is “ready” and “not afraid.”
The Canadian trucker clear-out has accelerated Friday morning with police in Ottawa arresting demonstrators and clearing out the streets.
Tow truck drivers have reportedly arrived under police escort and have set about working to remove the trucks, campers, and other vehicles in the area.

Some protesters obeyed orders from police while others blared their horns or were heard singing ‘Amazing Grace’ outside the prime minister’s office, according to Fox News.
“Some protesters are surrendering and are being arrested. We ask protesters to remain peaceful and lawful,” Ottawa police said in an alert.

While the Canadian trucker crackdown is ongoing, journalists are being banned from the area and unable to report on or witness the events currently transpiring.
All media who are attending the area, please keep a distance and stay out of police operations for your safety. Anyone found within areas undergoing enforcement may be subject to arrest. There will be a media availability later today at 474 Elgin Street. #ottnews

Support for an American Convoy
A new Rasmussen Reports poll indicates Americans strongly side with the ‘Freedom Convoy’ and would support a similar effort on this side of the border.
The survey shows 59 percent of respondents support the convoy, including 42 percent who “strongly support” it.
By a 57 to 35 percent margin, Americans think truckers in the United States should organize their own effort.

Senator Rand Paul of Kentucky has voiced his support for such an effort.
“I’m all for it,” he said. “Civil disobedience is a time-honored tradition in our country, from slavery to civil rights to you name it. Peaceful protest, clog things up, make people think about the mandates.”
