Priscilla Presley Reveals She’ll Be Buried Next To Ex-Husband Elvis After Her Death

Priscilla Presley has made the shocking announcement that she will be buried next to her ex-husband Elvis Presley at Graceland after she passes away.

Priscilla’s Burial Plans

Daily Mail reported that Priscilla, 78, revealed this during an interview with Piers Morgan after he asked her about the previous dispute between her and her granddaughter Riley Keough that ensued after the death of her daughter Lisa Marie back in January.

“At the center of it, it seemed quite straightforward that Lisa-Marie had changed her will and hadn’t told you. In changing it she had made the trustees her children, which is perfectly understandable, you just didn’t know,” Piers said. “So when she suddenly dies, tragically young, and this all comes out, you were caught blindsided, or that’s how it seemed to me.”

“Yes that’s all it was,” Priscilla replied. “I think Riley will be great, she’s asked me a few things like what to do with Graceland.”

“There may be some issue with the fact that you would one day be buried at Graceland, with Elvis, do you want to clear that up?” Piers asked. “What are your feelings?”

“My feelings are great, that’s what I want and wanted,” Priscilla responded.

“So you will be buried there?” Piers asked, to which Priscilla replied with an emphatic, “Yes.”

People Magazine reported that a judge approved an agreement on Monday that states that Priscilla will be buried as close to Elvis as possible without moving any existing grave sites.

Elvis is currently buried between his grandmother Minnie Mae Presley and his father Vernon Presley, according to US Weekly. His mother Gladys Presley, daughter Lisa Marie and her son, Benjamin Keough are buried near him at his Graceland estate in Memphis, Tennessee.

Though Priscilla divorced Elvis in 1973, four years before he died at the age of 42, she gushed over him in her interview with Piers.

“Elvis was… I’ve never met anyone like him and I don’t think I ever will again, ever,” Priscilla said. “He had the biggest heart. He had a great sense of humor. He had a lot of love.”

Priscilla Opens Up About Lisa Marie’s Death

In this same interview, Priscilla opened up about the death of Lisa Marie, who died back in January at the age of 54 after suffering from a bowel obstruction.

“It’s like a large part of your life is taken away,” Priscilla said, according to ABC News.

Priscilla went on to say that at the time of her death, Lisa Marie was still grieving the loss of her son Benjamin, who tragically took his own life back in 2020 at the age of 27.

“Losing Ben was the hardest thing for her. He took his own life, and he was the love of her life, that child — she adored him,” Priscilla said. “She would do anything for him, anything. And we were in Memphis, sitting up in the suite, and she said, ‘Mom, I don’t know if I want to be here,’ and I go, ‘What are you talking about?’ ‘You know, my Ben,’ and she would go on about Ben and how she is still grieving, and this was a couple of months before [she died].”

“[It] was almost like she wanted to go earlier, but the twins were still young — or too young, let’s put it that way,” she added, referring to Lisa Marie’s 15 year-old twin daughters Harper and Finley Lockwood.

Priscilla Looks To The Future

Looking to the future, Priscilla is determined to help her granddaughter Riley Keogh, 34, run Graceland.

“I love her. We’ve always gotten along,” Priscilla said of her granddaughter. “Riley and I have always been close.”

“I think Riley will be great,” she continued. “She’s asked me a few things about what to do. I want to help her with Graceland. I told her anything she needs to know about Graceland, about Elvis more so. I want her to know a lot about Elvis and I’ll probably, you know, help her in that way.”
