Conservative comedian and pundit Steven Crowder was told by YouTube this week that his channel will be banned for the rest of the year.
According to the Big Tech platform, the pugnacious Crowder supposedly violated a “hate speech” rule, but Crowder and his team were not told specifically what caused the ban.

‘Hate Speech’
Here is YouTube’s broad general policy on what constitutes “hate speech”: “Hate speech is not allowed on YouTube. We remove content promoting violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on any of the following attributes.”
Here is YouTube’s list of groups or categories that could include violating its hate speech rules:
* Age
* Caste
* Disability
* Ethnicity
* Gender Identity and Expression
* Nationality
* Race
* Immigration Status
* Religion
* Sex/Gender
* Sexual Orientation
* Victims of a major violent event and their kin
* Veteran Status
Crowder’s team took issue with YouTube for not telling them exactly what their informing them of what their “catchall” “hate speech” is, exactly, and which policy the conservative pundit supposedly violated.
Team Crowder said they can’t read YouTube CEOs minds!
“Somebody gets offended: ‘hate speech,’” the team mocked, adding, “How about, if you’re tying to improve the environment, you help us understand where we went wrong.”
Many conservatives have felt like social media suppresses their speech and freedom of expression. Many on the right feel uniquely penalized by Big Tech platforms like Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook on a regular basis.
Steven Crowder received a 2nd strike on YouTube for breaking the platform's policy on hate speech due to his "repeated targeting of the LGBTQ+ community"
he's suspended for 2 weeks. one more strike in a 90-day period and his channel is banned permanently. https://t.co/BX1miX4Rvl

Bias
Right before the 2020 presidential election, a New York Post story about Hunter Biden’s laptop and questionable foreign business dealings was suppressed by social media outlets. Many conservatives saw this as the social media companies not wanting to hurt Democratic presidential nominee Joe Biden before the election.
Former Twitter head Jack Dorsey has since apologized for suppressing the Hunter Biden story.
