A new PBS poll shows Americans trust the Trump Administration over the mainstream media by a 37-30 margin.
The numbers represent those who trust either entity “a good deal” or “a great amount.”
Upon seeing the results, political analyst Stuart Rothenberg stated that the distrust of the media represents a “horrible trend.”

Monday’s PBS NewsHour spotlighted the low trust in the news media, according to the results of their latest poll. Only 30 percent of those surveyed by NPR/PBS NewsHour/Marist trust the press “a good deal” or “a great amount.”
The Trump administration scored seven points better in the same poll. Guest Stuart Rothenberg bemoaned the “horrible trend” towards distrust of the media over the past several decades.
NPR’s Tamara Keith underlined that “these numbers are part of a very long trend of institutions losing trust from the American people; and that…puts America at risk.”
Based on the polling data, host Judy Woodruff concluded “that the media may be a good whipping boy.”
Hence the President railing on them as ‘fake news.’

Perpetually proving President Trump’s point that you’re ‘fake news’ doesn’t exactly help with the trustworthy numbers.
Perhaps printing years-old conspiracy theories and Russia collusion stories as fact – only to have to retract them -isn’t the best way to earn the public’s trust.
Or maybe, as another example, cutting a video of the Polish First Lady shaking President Trump’s hand and pretending she didn’t, then wailing like a 12-year-old girl isn’t the best use of one of your top network personalities.

Not so for CNN, who dropped to 13th in the prime time slot this week behind such networks as HGTV, Nick-at-Nite, and the Discovery Channel.

CNN is not in that particular boat alone. Far too many of America’s mass media seems to have forgotten their very reason for being.
They are not there to score points, they are not their to insure americans only hear their views on our political spectrum, and they are not in their positions because they wanted face time on the internet.
The press was implemented here to allow us an insight into all the assorted issue of our times.
Imagine the federalist papers being printed now, by the NY Times. Only one side would have been allowed, and the entire context would have been lost. imagine Chris Cuomo, or Chelsea Clinton ‘reporting’ on Hiroshima or nagasaki. Neither are factual Journalists, however both have been put in a position at one time or another because they had well known relationships, not based on their understanding or knowledge of a given topic.
Imagine The current ‘reporters’ transcribing their opinion based version of the ‘Emancipation Proclamation.’it might be 10 minutes or 30 minutes, depending on what night, what the current ratings were or who the owners of the network , paper, or radio station might be.
For this American, the 4th estate is on life support, and may soon be replaced by computer transcriptions of all words made by politicians, without human error or human alteration to make a point.
Frankly, I’d rather have exact reporting, rather than quasi-opinionated-seen thru the eyes of the DNC-crap we have been dished out on a regular basis for the past 10 years.
enough, either do the jobs you claimed you would do when you sought a license to utilize the American people’s airways, or don’t. If you choose to continue as you have, I would support your broadcast license being removed. trust me fellahs, your product is beginning to be offensive at every level. think Couric, Stephanopoulos or the gaggle of geese at MSNBC.
Now tell me why 68% of the nation and your own viewers find you lacking in basic reporting.
The media, otherwise known as Fake News has no trust and is sinking even lower, because they deserve and earned it.
I’m surprised CNN got rated that high. They should be down around 35th or lower. Perhaps it’s all of us conservatives watching to have a good laugh. :o)

There was no misreporting as this idiot website claims. Their own video clip posted in evidence PROVES that the polish First lady SPURNED the outstretched hand of trump and went to Melania first. That is a DIRECT slam to the President who by protocol would have had his hand shaken first AND its not as if trump didn’t have his paws stuck out there far enough that she missed it. This was a direct statement to this orange misogynistic pig about how he treats women. There was a political statement in her paying respect to MELANIA FIRST, and I am betting Melania caught all sorts of hell from trump as a result, he is after all prone to domestic violence as has been proven by BOTH his past divorces as well as by Melania herself.
Pretending that there was no message is the intent of this article, pretending that all is sunny with the world and trump is the God that made it all possible…. PRETENDING that the news did not ACCURATELY state the situation.

The pollsters control their polls by the biased samples taken. Looks like they are finally coming around to “Fair Polls”; i.e., not biased.
Their random samples and the way the wording in them can turn a poll 180-degrees from reality; i.e., did “the witch” win :)
I was amazed watching this because NPR didn’t attempt to inject a few anti Trump zingers into the discussion!
That is sad, considering what the framers of the constitution intended that the press should contribute to the government, which is to say a reliable ‘watchdog’ to prevent fraud, collusion, and misdirection. Now, we have to worry about politicians, AND the media doing these things. Very unsettling.
