This is one of those posts that simply warms the cockles of your heart.
John Podesta, 2016 national campaign chairman for Hillary Clinton, practically sat down on the psychiatrist couch and admitted that he loses sleep “every night” over her defeat to President Trump.
In an interview with CNN’s Alisyn Camerota, Podesta admitted “we bear the burden of having lost the Electoral College, so I lose sleep about that every night.”
Cheer up, John. Your loss was America’s gain.
Via the Free Beacon:
Camerota asked Podesta whether Clinton was surprised at how often Trump invokes her name this far into his presidency.
“It’s unprecedented,” Podesta said. ” You never saw that behavior from any other president who’s talking about the person they beat. I think it really just bugs the hell out of him that she got three million more votes than he did and he keeps coming back to that.”
“Obviously we bear the burden of having lost the Electoral College, so I lose sleep about that every night,” Podesta added.
The picture accompanying the article is pure gold. Cue the sad trombone …

To be fair, I’d lose sleep too if the entire premise of the DNC leaks – the one’s the media likes to blame on Russian hackers – may have been the result of a really pathetic password.
Or the fact that her top advisers on the campaign you led told Hillary to “run up” the popular vote count and completely ignore the electoral vote. You know, the electoral vote – the only thing that mattered!

While Podesta has been crying into his pillow, Hillary, he claims, has tried to move forward.
“I think she’s reflected on the mistakes that she made, what she might have done different,” he said, “but I think she’ll also talk about where the country is and how to move forward.”
Hillary, it seems, has come a long way since election night, when she was at some points inconsolably emotional, possibly drunk, and physically threatening towards her top aides, as the reality that Trump had defeated her slowly sank in.
Let’s hope Podesta can come to terms with that devastating loss at some point as well.
We’d sure hate for him to lose sleep over it every night.
