Pelosi No-Shows Tax Protest After Only a Handful of People Arrive

They’d like you to believe the American people oppose tax cuts in droves. That the middle class will rise up and defeat this travesty of economic justice.

That’s apparently not the case. At all.

House Minority Speaker Nancy Pelosi was set to speak at a rally to oppose the ballyhooed tax legislation put forth by Republicans, but bailed in a hurry when she realized only a couple of dozen people were there and it had been packed tightly into a small conference room on Capitol Hill.

MSNBC reported on it by way of comparing it to healthcare protests around the country.

“These protests have never been like what we saw with the healthcare law,” a reporter explained.

He then pivoted to describing exactly why the Pelosi protest was such a bust on several fronts.

“This particular protest was supposed to start at three, it was supposed to feature Nancy Pelosi, and it’s supposed to have hundreds of people, and none of those things are going to end up being true,” the reporter said.

Worse for the liberal viewers of MSNBC, the reporter explained that passage of the tax cuts is almost a certainty.

“There has been this protest effort to stop this and slow it down, but it’s increasingly likely that the passage of this tax bill is more or less a foregone conclusion at this point … ,” he said.

Democrats have been trying to sell the tax cut plan as a gift to the rich, and a debacle for the middle class. But a New York Times report indicates that some rich individuals will be paying more under the plan, while the Wall Street Journal indicates middle class Americans will get 23% of the tax cuts.

Maybe that’s why nobody attended Pelosi’s protest – they heard the truth about the tax cut plan.
