In a press conference on Thursday, Speaker Nancy Pelosi said that the House would not hold articles of impeachment “indefinitely” and would “probably” send them to the Senate “soon.”
Articles of Impeachment “Not Held Indefinitely”
The House voted to impeach President Trump last month, but Speaker Pelosi has yet to send the articles of impeachment over to the Senate and begin the impeachment trial. As this hasn’t happened yet, some legal experts say the President has technically not been impeached.
“I’m not holding [the articles of impeachment] indefinitely,” Pelosi told reporters. “I’ll send them over when I’m ready. And that will probably be soon… We want to see what they’re willing to do, and the manner in which they will do it… Documentation, witnesses, facts, truth. That’s what they’re afraid of.”

Huge Pressure on Pelosi
Pelosi is facing enormous pressure from her side of the House into just handing the articles over and getting the show on the road. Rep. Jahana Hayes of Connecticut, who voted to impeach the President “over urgent concerns about his conduct,” said that it was “the right thing to do” to hand the articles over.
“I trust the speaker’s judgment, but I voted on these articles when they were presented because I felt that we were at a point where it needed to happen,” said Hayes, a recent member of the House. “So personally, I’d like them to go forward.” Senator Chris Coons of Delaware said he respected “the fact that she is concerned about the fact about whether or not there will be a fair trial,” but thinks that “it is time to get on with it.”
Their voices were joined by more senior figures in the Democratic establishment. Senator Dianne Feinstein, from Pelosi’s own state of California, told Politico that “the longer it goes on the less urgent it becomes. So if it’s serious and urgent, send them over. If it isn’t, don’t send it over.”
Senator Joe Manchin of West Virginia agreed, saying that the House “should move on,” and pass it up to them.

Get On With It!
It almost seems incredible as to why Pelosi isn’t sending over the articles of impeachment to the Senate. Why would she not be doing what she and pretty much everyone else in her party have been crying for since the President was elected? Well, it’s simple: She wants to drag this process out for as long as possible, to give the President maximum embarrassment.
Pelosi knows that the Republicans in the Senate won’t convict him, so she’s causing more delay and dither to stop the President and Congress getting on with the things that actually matter to the American people, like building a wall and securing our borders! Once you know that, it all makes sense.
